101 Craft Kitchen — Restaurant in Washington Township

101 Beer Kitchen is a nice, large dining establishment that offers a small, limited menu of culinary cuisine for most any palette.

This was my second visit to 101 Beer Kitchen. I had a reservation, and I highly recommend reserving to make the experience more smoother, of 10 folks. I called and had to add to the existing head count and the team member on the phone was very forward thinking and suggested I switch to the high top table for more comfort. It was a great idea. Plenty of room for all of us.

I was the second in my party to arrive and I placed an order for the pretzels. The appetizers arrived fresh, hot and very presentable. The server suggested the house made tots, which I sampled a friend's after she placed some Sriracha on. Definitely kicked them up a notch but if you enjoy a good tater skin, you will enjoy the tots.

My entree was the Southwest salad. I had had this before so I was looking forward to it again. 101 Beer Kitchen delivered again on a fresh, cool, chilled salad only this time I opted for the jumbo shrimp add-on. As seen in the picture, the Southwest Salad is a great mixture of greens, black beans, roasted corn, creamy guacamole and tortilla strips. The shrimp that came was nice in size and flavor but did not deliver on quantity versus price. For $7.25 you get 3 jumbo grilled shrimp. I felt that 4 to 5 would have been a more fair value. Nonetheless, the Southwest Salad packed the flavor and texture that hit the spot for me as always.

Service at 101 Beer Kitchen was also of good quality and speed. In large groups, service can sometimes diminish or be inconsistent but not during this visit. Everyone's order arrived in a timely fashion and prepared to everyone's request. One thing that really impresses me is when your drink is refilled without permission and to my delight my soda came just as I took the last sip of the first one.

Due to Covid-19 safety, 101 Beer Kitchen features QR codes for the food menu as well as their beverage menu, so if you are there for drinks only, it makes it convenient to just view what you are interested in.

Lastly, when your bill arrives, you get an itemized bill with a QR code for opening the payment system. This feature is so convenient and easy as well as contactless. After Covid-19 becomes a thing of the past, it would be great to see the payment feature...

This place is always friendly. Wonderful atmosphere. Delicious food. Delicious. The burger is amazing. The wings are amazing. I've had many of the items on their seasonally rotating menu and its wonderful to be able to try new things but also have some staples always remain; burger, pizza, wings. Sometimes it's just nice to sit and have a drink at the bar. They make wonderful cocktails and have a nice selection of craft beers on draft with additional beers in bottles or cans. Bartenders know their stuff and give great recommendations.

9/21/2020 - This was the first time we were able to order some carryout since Covid started. Got the burgers and fries, wings, pretzel dog kids meal, quesadilla kids meal, Mac and cheese kids meal, and fish and chips kids meal. Each and every item was absolutely amazing! The burger was delicious. Fries were crispy and delicious. It was sad that we were not able to eat in but was so happy we were able to get some take out. My kids loved all their meals. Wonderful dinner. Thank you Beer kitchen!

3/15/2022 - Update... staff is still just amazing as ever. Unfortunately the food wasn't quite as good. We got burgers and they were just ok. They were good burgers but not the expectation of what the burgers were. The burger meat itself wasn't as flavorful and juicy. The bacon just seemed like generic bacon. I knew it was there because of the crunch not from the flavor. And the cheese was change. Overall the burger was our go to but now we'll be looking to try something else. With all the supply chain issues that were happening we aren't surprised things changed. Hopefully things will go back to some of the same ingredients as before.

10/11/2022 - Update - We've been ordering take out from here and noticed the food coming back to what we've expected. Tonight we went out there and had some of their wings, which are always perfect. We got then a la carte filet and red potatoes and the crispy lemon chicken. The lemon chicken was beyond amazing. It was perfect. Chicken was juicy. Had reservations for 6pm on a Thursday. I received an email at 4:55 day of reminding me of upcoming reservations. I arrived at 5:45 and the young blonde girl at the desk informed me that I canceled my reservation! I informed her that I most definitely did not cancel, and showed her the reminder email from the restaurant just 50 minutes prior to my arrival time (which I didn't reply to the email). So that email, plus me standing in the restaurant for my table obviously shows that I didn't cancel, but she proceeded to get snarky with me and then makes a smartelic comment that luckily they have an opening.....really?? This is a walk-in restaurant that does not require (nor normally get reservations) and we were only a party of 4! No apologies whatsoever as clearly somebody there canceled it or there's a computer error. If I wasn't meeting others there, I would have left!

Our waiter was Abdur and he was very friendly and personable. We had to wait on a fourth person so we told him we would be about 20 minutes before we needed to order food. It was quite busy in there early on, so he was working all of the tables around us. It was 15- 20 minutes after our 4th arrived before we could ever get his attention, even though he was walking by our table, he just wasn't looking at us. We weren't too bothered by it though, as we were chatting and catching up. Finally he stopped over and we placed our orders. All of our food was delicious and correct as ordered. He was coming around and checking on a refills and refilling water. A lady that I can only assume was the manager, came over and checked on us and she was very friendly.
