I chose this establishment for my birthday! My husband and I drove 45 minutes to celebrate my birthday for dinner. This was his first time ever eating at a Smokey Bones and he said it will be his last. The best thing out of it was the greeter and waitress. Upon arriving the greeter told us it would be a 15/20min wait which was fine with us turned out to be 30minutes which still was ok. Once seated it took the waitress about 20 minutes to get to us to just get a drink order which was sprite and hot tea which took time to get that!! Since that took time we decided once she came back we would go on and order our food so we ordered an appetizer thinking this would come quickly which took 50 minutes to bring after I went to ask to speak with the manager who said she would take it off the tab. But that was not the point we were hungry and wanted to know what was taking sooo long just for loaded fries. The food came 5 minutes after the fries my husband got the texas style beef brisket meal which the brisket was full of fat that he could not even eat it. I got bourbon bbq chicken breast and that was so small the size to give a toddler and it was burnt on the bottom the waitress apologized for it when she saw my face was like what is this and my baked potato was cold and hard!! I did not even bother to send the food back at that point . I had lost my appetite. I really was upset because my husband wanted to take me somewhere else and I chose this for my birthday!!! Unbelievable horrible experience! The waitress did try and make it better by bringing me a piece of cake and ice cream which I was grateful for! I do not know what was going on that Saturday night if the cook did not show up or what! I just know that the left a bad impression on my husband and myself. I am a person who tries to find good in all things which I did point out what was good I just know they are going to have to do better. Communication is vital someone should have come and said something to us as we were waiting the restaurant was not over crowded or anything so maybe they were understaffed I don't know nevertheless still someone should have taken the initiative to check on the patronizing customers we were not the only ones waiting on food etc....
Read moreOur experience was horrible. I am disappointed in our service tonight. Our waitress Adrienne had such a terrible attitude. Seeing that she was older, we thought that we would be taken care of. We were completely wrong and completely put off by the way she acted towards us and towards others that work with her. We saw her pacing back and forth blurting out foul curse words. Our orders were completely wrong. We came in and did not get out until late due to her slow pace and many errors in our orders. They were simple orders. Seeing how "experienced" she said she was, she did not perform like it. She should not work for any restaurants. We were surprised at the amount of foul words that she used, and around kids and teenagers at that. How is it that this lady is allowed work here? This is not the first time I have been here and have seen this waitress disrespect the people in the restaurant. I have seen her completely disrespect others and call them very foul explicit and degrading names while walking around the restaurant. I have also seen her blow up on her peers and yet, she remains at the restaurant. This is very unprofessional and makes this place look bad. I recommend for people not to eat here unless they get rid of this server. We will not be coming back. Food is always great but the Hellish atmosphere and service this woman brings to the establishment is unbearable. It is sad, because there are other fine servers who do such an excellent job and are kind. The food is always great here, but me and my friends will not be coming back due to this server. I will be contacting corporate due to this server. This is not the first time I have complained about her. Please do something. Food and hosts are amazing, and we have had other servers here that gave amazing service. I am in disbelief that she is still working here after our other complaints. I will now take it to corporate in hopes that something...
Read moreSoon after landing in Georgia, we wanted to set off in search of some of that famed “Southern hospitality.” That journey wasn’t a lengthy one as we soon had the good fortune of meeting Adrienne at “Smokey Bones” in Columbus.
She immediately greeted us with genuine warmth and made us feel right at home!
We decided to go “all in” on our “all rib” entrees and enjoyed both their “Signature House Smoked Ribs” and their “Imported Baby Back Ribs.”
While the deliciousness of their ribs was of no surprise, the quality of their sides was and the “Mashed Potato and Gravy” and the “BBQ Baked Beans” were good enough to emerge from the shadow of their entrée counterparts and forge their individual paths.
I have to admit that I felt excitedly like we were being admitted to an exclusive Southern fraternity/sorority when Adrienne mentioned that she’d be bringing a “bone bag” to accompany our meals. I (eventually) figured out that she was bringing us a paper bag…for us to put our bones into…when we were finished with them. (It’s ok if you feel the need to read that a few times over to get the gist. That just means that you and I could then start that exclusive fraternity/sorority that I mistakenly thought already existed! 🤦♂️)
While enjoying some BBQ in the South was something I had always aspired to experience, I also had my first taste of “Sweet Tea” and it was everything that I had hoped for. Sweet and flavorful, but without being ridiculously amped up with cups full of sugar. It was “tastefully done” just as I had imagined!
Thanks Adrienne and “Smokey Bones” for welcoming us to the South! 😃
And that’s…Henry’s...
