I really like this place alot. The sushi is so good, omg I could eat it everyday. It's so fresh and the rice ratio is on point, not too much just right! This was my boyfriend and I second time here. The first time service was great, food was great, overall excellent experience. This second time around, there were some flaws throughout the entire service. We were seated by a very nice hostess and told our waiter would be right with us. We waited and waited. Our waiter finally came after about 7-10 mins no lie. I get it's a Friday but really.... She got our drink order and appetizers order. A few minutes later a guy at the bar walked over and said our waiter would be right with us and asked if we needed any drinks or suggestions. Told him we were good and we had just ordered some appetizers. Fast forward, our apps come, miso soup and the teriyaki wings (both very good). Sushi order is taken. Brought in a decent amount of time, being they are cooked rolls and easy to make. I got the yellowtail and scallion, California roll, and shrimp tempura rolls. Bf got Philadelphia roll and spicy crab add cream cheese. All of the rolls were delicious. When we finished I kid you not, our plates sat in front of us for at least 15 minutes. After being irritated with an empty plate in front of me and no water in my glass, I asked the guy standing across from the table if he worked here (he looked like a manager in regular clothes). He said, "Yes, how can I help you?" Well if you don't mind, you can help by getting these dirty dishes out of our face that have been here for about 15 minutes and some more water please. He apologized and took away the dishes, as our server was coming back towards us finally. He told her something and she also apologized and asked if we wanted to order anything else. We just took the bill and left. I will take tonight as it being a busy Friday night only because I really do like this place and there food is superb. I hope our waiter does...
Read moreIts hard to imagine the quality of food here before Covid considering during this pandemic still serving amazingly fresh sushi. Any sushi lover knows the key to great sushi is fresh seafood products. The 1126 delivered nothing but the best quality products available. They went as far to substitute fresh blue crab for the imitation crab mix they were serving due to them not being able to affordably source real crabmeat. We ordered five rolls: The Fantastic Roll. The American Dream Roll. The Lobster Roll . The Fancy Roll and The 1126 Roll. Listed in the order of best to good. My only complaint was The 1126 Roll is not well put together and is impossible to be picked up using chopstick because it falls apart due to the rice not maintaining its structure when pressure is applied using chopsticks. Overall the ambience is fantastic and will become my go to place for sushi. I am happy to not have to make the drive all the way up to Akai Hana. The 1126 has a more modern city feel to their ambience. Give you that San Francisco vibe while Akai Hana has that traditional Japanese vibe. Both are equally great, I am just glad to find a place that serves fresh sushi...
Read moreThe good was okay. The service and the whole atmosphere awful. I walked in at 5.15pm with the place completely empty. I guess it was just me without anyone else joining (corporate traveler) I was allowed to sit only at the bar or high tables by the window under baking sun. It was extremely hot to sit by the windows so I had to ask if they would allow me to sit in one of the tables... I was told they are all reserved. At that point I considered leaving and they allowed me to take one of the tables. The food was okay. Nothing special. The two young girls working today were on their phones without even hiding it from customers (I guess I was the only customer and they really didn't care). They were discussing personal business loudly and taking selfies. Overall just a weird experience. Spending $60+ on one person but being treated like a second class was unpleasant to say the least. I spent about 35 minutes at the restaurant during that time only two tables were taken. The rest were still empty. So much for being "all reserved". Wouldn't recommend. Aki Hana in Dublin is way better. People that say this is the best sushi they ever had, please check...
