ETA: Since trying this location we have been to two locations in Atlanta, both tiny booth sized places inside HMart stores and so much better. Better pastries and far better service. Fully stocked. Actual friendly staff (one person per store too). Wish we lived closer, would definitely go back.
We walked in around 11:00 and the line was pretty much starting at the door. Got a tray but quickly realized that about 95% of the product space was empty. Plenty of milk bread in the initial area that seems to hold most products but that was about it plus a few prepackaged items. The refrigerated cases were pretty much full with the cakes, whole and individual portions. The overall atmosphere is stark, plain and not particularly inviting, especially when there’s not much to try. Trash cans were overflowing but rest of the dining space seemed clean. There were a. LOT Of workers behind the counter. The bathroom was clean.
I admit their number system was a little confusing and people ordering after us were getting their drinks. So I inquired and the woman making coffee was immediately very condescending and rude. I can be wrong, that’s not a problem, which is why I asked. What this place needs to do is train people in customer service. Even the woman who rang us up refused to just hand us a tiramisu from the case right beside her, but for some reason handed items to several others after us. We had to go ask someone again to give it to us. Plus we had to answer the same question multiple times when ordering.
So after waiting about 30-40 minutes, we finally get back to the car. First off, the iced tiramisu lattes were just bad. They were bland, overly milky and overpriced especially given those details. Mine was barely with any coffee while my daughter’s was extremely strong. It was standard whipped cream or cold foam. Not sure what made this a tiramisu latte.
I tried the blueberry cream cheese bread and it was okay. The outer pastry had a nice texture and the filling was decent. It just wasn’t as flavorful as expected. I know these are Asian inspired but I have had plenty of other such things and this definitely could be better.
The cheesecake you can get at the local Asian market. I was curious if this one was any better. It’s fine. I wouldn’t get it again. Fine but nothing exciting about it.
The strawberry tiramisu was…not tiramisu at all. The stuff that should be the marscapone was more like regular whipped cream with little to no flavor. This thing was ridiculously expensive and it lacked richness in its flavor and texture. The best part was the strawberry syrup was very flavorful and nice. The cake portion seemed angel food cake-ish. Just really confused what makes it worth $8.25.
The milk bread we hadn’t tried yet. ETA: eventually we tried the bread, the four-pack of rolls version, and it is actually very good and still was the following day too. Still, it too is overpriced for what you get. This place is very expensive, it’s definitely not a place to stop often. Again, prices need to be significantly less.
Everything that we saw was tiny. Very small portions for what you’re paying. I think our first impression would have been better if it was all half the prices we saw and paid and the workers we talked to had been just more helpful and less rude and dismissive. As usual, restaurants in Columbus, GA continue to be not so great upon opening. Will give it another shot in a few months. They definitely need to work on...
Read moreEvery visit to this French and Korean bakery is an absolute delight! The young team of teens and young adults who work here truly make the experience special, not only are they learning something new everyday they’re always friendly, attentive, and eager to help. Their positive energy creates such a welcoming atmosphere, and it’s clear they take pride in providing top notch customer service. Which makes me leave them an extra tip.
The pastries and drinks are just as impressive as the service. Each treat is beautifully made and full of unique flavor and combinations that you won’t find anywhere else. From flaky, buttery croissants with a twist to delicate Korean inspired desserts, everything looks and tastes like it came straight from a pastry chef’s dream. The drink menu is equally creative, every sip is refreshing and pairs perfectly with the sweets.
I took my Korean mother here, and it brought back memories of her working in a Korean bakery in Korea. She shared the location with her friends, and loved the not so sweet treats that she picked out.
If you’re looking for a bakery that blends warmth, creativity, and exceptional service, this is the...
Read moreWent and tried out the new café today. The design and the way the place is made was gorgeous. The buffet style is genius. They have a tray, a sheet, and your own individual tong to collect your danishes/pastries. Love that. The variety of food was incredible. Breakfast and lunch snacks all around. Donuts, danishes and croquettes... all so good. The price is pretty steep. We spent about $50 on just us three to try different items. The macaroons were $2+ so I ended up getting a pack of 6 which was $16+. My coffee was cheaper than my Starbucks drink lol so thats good. And the drink was so so so so good!! I got the tiramasu and that was delicious. The guava Danish was my favorite treat.
I will say the atmosphere was beautiful. HOWEVER, because most of the treats are flaky , there was food on multiple tables. They need to have someone cleaning pretty regularly. There was a lady who had to wipe down her own table before going to sit down. But the chairs and tables were very comfortable and separated very nicely throughout the café.
Overall , I will go again to get a special treat but it wouldn't be a regular stop because of how...
