Waffle House — Restaurant in Columbus

9/07/2020 (Tuesday) - My brother lives in Georgia. He had business appointment in Columbus. His drive took 8 hours to Columbus. He has always loved Waffle House so he decided among all other restaurants Columbus, MS offers, he chose the Waffle House, 45 North Columbus. He posted this on facebook: I went to the Waffle House when I was in Columbus and the short waitress appeared to have a negative attitude on white people based on observation on service to customers. I arrived about 1:45pm , have an appointment at 2:30pm in Columbus. Place was not busy. There motto is "Good food fast" HAH !. It took almost 10 minutes to get waited on, did not bring my drink, 10 more minutes went by and the waitress asked me what I wanted to drink and brought it. She then placed my order, 15 more minutes went by and I finally received my order. Had 10 minutes to eat and run. I was a customer at the old Waffle House that was in business across Highway 45 North, but it was closed and moved directly across the highway. I have been a customer for nearly 9 years with no problems. I will no longer be such and take my business elsewhere. Now, I am his sister that lives in Columbus, MS. I took my grandson one morning to eat there and he was so excited. They were not busy whatsoever when we entered. The employees huddled around talking and did not even acknowledge they had two customers. My grandson and I waited....and waited...and waited, for someone, anyone to come over and at least take our drink order first. No one came and I realized we were white, they were black..I felt as if there was an issue here. I told my grandson we are leaving and would go to Huddle House. As we were leaving I did say very loudly so the Waffle House people would hear me, "come on grandson, let's go to Huddle House and get us some wonderful breakfast." I mean it’s Waffle House! U know what u r going to get when u go inside with the atmosphere! Not classy and sometimes NOT CLEAN! But all things considered the server was SUPER SLOW to greet us, not sure if it was shift change but all 3 servers stood and talked about their night out for at least 5 mins b4 anyone even came to the table! I had to get a towel that was laying on the bar bc all the tables were dirty in the section of the restaurant where we were trying to sit in, not sure about the bar top or the other side! The server was polite and pleasant when he did finally come to the table. The food was served hot, for the most part and the chili was great! My friend’s dinner was cold and his waffle came out way b4 the other food, but hey we did get to eat! And the server even brought over a Togo drink after I ask for it! I still tipped him more than 20% of the bill so things could not have been that lacking! We left full and headed back to Birmimgham! We probably would go back, maybe! Again it’s Waffle House! The staff was friendly, slow but friendly. My order was 2 egg plate, hash browns, wheat toast with sausage with the eggs cooked softly and fluffy. What I got was overcooked eggs, white bread toast. The potatoes and eggs and toast were cold because they sat on the grill station for several minutes I thought waiting for the sausage to cook. My eggs and potatoes were have eaten when the sausage arrives, overcooked and 3/4 done before the wheat toast arrived. It was apparent watching the cooking of food that it was common for the eggs and potatoes be be cooked and place on a plate to wait for the rest of the order. Another observation while waiting, they have a sign over the basket of raw eggs supposedly showing the date and time the basket was placed there and when to discard them if not used. The date was 7/28 the time placed 6:30am the time to discard was 10:30am. We all know that the eggs in the basket have not been there that long but the attention to detail at this...
