I am going to be completely honest and say I have never left a review before. I have worked in hospitality for 20 years and understand there are MANY variables involved in a diners experience. That being said our entire experience was horrible. A few years ago I would go to kickstand for chicken wings and beer, I remember it being ok. The last two times my family and I have been in this summer the experience was disappointing from the start. The staff is for the most part lifeless, it might be old fashion but greeting with a snails and warmth goes a long way! I am not sure if they don’t have enough people working the floor or they are not good at multitasking and efficiency. Our server was nice enough but overall many things were late or forgotten.
Now, we all know if the food is stellar you can make do with mediocre service….the food has been extremely disappointing. The beet and pear salad comes with 2 small wedges of pear and paper thin beets, not much flavor or substance. We had the fish and chips, again the fish batter had zero seasoning, yet it was flaky and cooked well but how hard is it to add old bay, or some spices to the batter? The fries were overly salted and the tartar sauce was literally Mayo with some herbs for color (no flavor). I had been craving fish and chips and thought we’d try there’s vs multi lakes, I wish we’d gone to multi lakes fish fry and that is sad. My husbands pizza was the best thing yet the last two times he’s ordered it wishing he hadn’t.
For the amount of money we spent, we could have driven downtown and eaten a delicious meal for not that much more!
Like I said I NEVER write reviews but I am leaving this in the hopes that the kickstand team can make adjustments to the food and service to provide a restaurant for the community that is enjoyable to go to, a place that you’re excited to try again! We don’t have many places to eat in the area and it could be a home run and attract people from neighboring towns with its good food vs being full simply because there are no other options and...

Nestled in the heart of Commerce Township, Kickstand Brewing Company offers a delightful retreat for beer aficionados and food lovers alike. With its microbrewery charm and a menu that transcends traditional pub grub, this establishment promises an experience that's both flavorful and heartwarming.
Ambiance: The interior exudes an industrial vibe with a touch of whimsy, thanks to the bicycle-themed decor. It's spacious enough to host a crowd yet intimate enough for a casual afternoon solo. The place is equipped with TVs for sports enthusiasts and a full bar that showcases an impressive selection of craft beers and hard cider.
Beverages: The highlight, undoubtedly, is their world-class beer, uniquely their own. Whether you're a fan of hoppy IPAs or smooth stouts, Kickstand has a brew to satisfy your palate. The beer I had was a testament to their brewing prowess – perfectly balanced, refreshing, and just the right companion for a leisurely afternoon.
Food: As for the food, the fries I ordered were a delightful surprise. Far from being an afterthought, they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, seasoned to perfection. The menu boasts a variety of dishes that are crafted with beer integration and pairing in mind, ensuring that each bite complements the sip.
Service: Service at Kickstand is commendable. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that your glass is never empty and your needs are promptly met. It's the kind of service that makes you want to return, not just for the food and drink, but for the warm hospitality.

Read moreThree of us decided to meet up for dinner here at the kickstand brewing company. I decided to try one of their specialty cocktails called the lotus because it reminded me of a drink I really liked at another restaurant. Unfortunately, this drink did not hit the mark. I'm fact, I couldn't even drink half of it because I disliked it so much. Almost felt as if there was waaay too much lemon in the drink. We decided to start with their beer cheese appetizer that came with chips and fried pita. This too did not hit the mark. It wasn't your typical beer cheese, rather more like a cream cheese chip dip. Definitely not what we were expecting while also not tasting that great so we will not be ordering it again. Our dinners included a pizza, sliders, and steak tacos. I was told the pizza and steak tacos were delicious. The steak on the tacos was super tender and overall the tacos had really good flavor. The rice that came on the side of the tacos had like zero flavor but no big deal bc the tacos were phenomenal. The sliders were okay, not great but not bad. I probably wouldn't order them again bc I don't like paying for food that's just okay, but again, they were not bad. The atmosphere is pretty cool and our service...
