Approximately 1 month ago I called nearby salons for pricing on extension services. It was difficult to get approximate prices for lifting of extensions that were already in your hair. I called TRU and spoke with.a receptionist. My story is only factual not embellished one way or another. The receptionist told me I needed to come in for a consult. I was scheduled for back surgery and wanted my extensions tightened before my procedure. She said she couldn’t give me any price until I had a consultation. I’ve had extensions for years. I am familiar with prices. My previous stylist passed away and i needed a new stylist. I went in for a consult. I was assigned to the owner. The salon is a Bellami certified salon. I have Bellami extensions. There was no consultation. The owner had someone shampoo & blow dry my hair. My hair was clean prior to coming in. I had just shampooed at home but went along with it. My extensions were removed prior to being shampooed. Still no consultation or pricing. The owner was very polite & knowledgeable. Unfortunately when my hair was dried and my hair extensions which were brand new prior to me coming in, were reinstalled, I was billed $320. I have NEVER paid this in my life and was totally taken back. I paid my bill but went home and began processing “why” I was charged so much. I thought maybe there was a mistake made and possibly I was overcharged. I called the salon to speak to the owner and she responded that every client that comes in for any extension work, that it’s automatically $350 and that I was given a price break of $30. I asked why I wasn’t informed that ANY NEW extension client was charged $350. I wouldn’t have wasted my time or theirs for those prices. The owner couldn’t offer any explanation as to why she didn’t tell me first since this was a standard proce for new extension clients. If it was standard, the receptionist should have said something and the owner, especially the owner, should have quoted me before she even began removing my extensions. I really felt blindsided to how this all went down. I will not be returning or referring...
Read moreWell I talked to Codie and she sounded like she knew her stuff. I explained my delema that my nails were damaged by acrylics and that I didn't like them cause they were too thick. She told me she was different and that I would feel like they were my own. Well needless to say they fealt like giant chickletts on nails and started popping off within a week. They were also crooked. That's not even the worst I then got a pedicure by Amber (I think) , I started by explaining to her I had a tip on one of my toes. She asked why and when I explained that I had lost my toenail as a child due to my father pulling it off by accident, she said it made her want to puke. Then she proceeded to ask more questions and again said how it made her want to puke, that was said at least four more times. Even to the point of making sound effects and facial expressions. I am very self-conscious of this and at 47 I have only been comfortable enough to even get pedicures in the last two years. That's why I have the tip on to cover it up. Never have I ever been treated this badly getting my nails done, I just wanted to hide my feet again. I was so embarrassed there was other people in the room. Besides that there was piles of hair that hadn't been swept in a while, in areas where no one was working. Disquesting , very dirty !!!!! Never going back, please be aware especially if you're bodies...
Read moreI have been to Tru Salon Spa twice: once for a silk peel dermal infusion facial, and the second time for an acne clinical facial. The esthetician is highly talented & she does excellent work, but on both occasions, I was made to feel as though I was "dirty" due to the hormonal breakouts on my face. For some reason, she felt the need to point out the location of every blemish I had (as if I wasn't already painfully aware) and then suggested that the blemishes were the result of failing to change my pillowcase (which I do on a daily basis) or not washing my face often enough (which I am meticulous about doing.) The results of both facials were AMAZING, but they were definitely not relaxing experiences because I had to spend the entire appointment explaining why my skin wasn't perfect. Obviously, I had already acknowledged that my complexion needed some work -- that's why I was there. Aside from that negative aspect of my experience here, I would highly recommend getting a facial done by Candace. I have gotten facials at several other spas, and none of them came close to providing the results I got from my facials at...
