Sergio's Tacos — Restaurant in Commerce

If you're in the mood for disappointment served with a side of rudeness, Sergio's Tacos is the place for you. My recent visit to this establishment left me questioning why anyone would subject themselves to such poor service and inferior food.

Upon arrival, the restaurant was bustling, which is usually a good sign. However, the packed atmosphere seemed to have overwhelmed the staff, as we were consistently ignored for a significant amount of time before being grudgingly attended to.

Despite hearing rave reviews about their menudo, the dish that drew us in, what we received was far from satisfactory. Our menudo arrived in small portions, lacking the essential ingredient - hominy, despite specifically requesting it. When we brought this to the attention of the server, her response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, she proceeded to scold us for not requesting extra hominy, even though there was none to begin with.

After much back and forth, we were given uncooked hominy, which was nearly impossible to chew. To add insult to injury, the Tamal we ordered was dry, unappetizing, and appeared to have been sitting out for far too long. My daughter, who was excited to try it, ended up leaving hungry and disappointed.

To top it all off, the exorbitant price we paid for such dismal fare only added insult to injury. $35 for two measly portions of menudo and a single dry Tamal is simply unacceptable, especially given the quality of the food and service.

In conclusion, Sergio's Tacos is a place best avoided. Unless you enjoy wasting your money on dull food, receiving horrible service, and being scolded by a staff member with a full face of makeup, I would steer clear of this establishment. Needless to say, I will not be returning...

Update: It's been over 2-years since I've eaten here but finally returned. Chile relleno burrito, nacho fries w/carne asada, carne asada, al pastor and buche/carnitas tacos and a couple large drinks tamarindo and jamaica. Wife and I couldn't finish all the fries but everything else went down deliciously. We barely spoke! Seems like a different from before but everything went well. I won't be waiting soo long to return again.

Original:...Flavor all the meats is great. Even the beans are flavored just right (bean and cheese 🌯 burrito.) The red and green salsas are hot and spicy and tasty, the green sauce so it's not as spicy but it is really tasty. The portions are very reasonable for the price but you do pay for the quality of the food. this place is always packed during lunch so come prepared to stand in line a while. Once your order is taken, it's ready in under 5 minutes. Be sure to tip.

Update: Passing through the city, or close enough off the 5/710, and decided to scratch this itch 👌🏽. The family was satisfied and my children really liked the green salsa....

I WOULDN'T RECOMEND!!!! The food was OKAY. Yes they do chop it up in your face but that doesn't actually mean it's fresh. I had a chicken quesadilla and it was too cheesy. My chicken taco was good tho. They were rude and acting as if they were irritated for whatever reason. As I was leaving I also noticed flies. I called in to report the fact that the employees were rude and I spoke to a guy who lied and said the mananger wasn't there and gave me a fake number to call. He then hung up in my face after telling me he didn't speak English. I called back and come to find out the manager was actually there lol! Overall this place was pretty bad.
