Overly Hyped. They must be only famous for their tortas as their slogan says because everything else is questionable. My husband and I are new to the area so we thought we'd try this place since it's only 5 min away. The first order we had where burritos. They seemed ok enough to only order on an emergency when there was not time to cook and need to eat soon. Since it was just ok we decided to Oder something else!our second time. The second time we ordered over the phone. Person taking my order had his correct but my order which I would be sharing with my little one was wrong. I caught before the order was submitted as I asked for the person to regurgitate my order twice untill made sure they had it correctly. It was nachos by the way. They had first thought I asked for a different dish and then second time they had noted it to include everything when I asked they please omit chili powder or any salsa. Nachos where not what I expected. They used that cheap three cheese shredded cheese. I was starving so I ate some. My little did not like it and decided to wait until our home made beans where done. Not the best I'll tell you right now. Burritos are much better. Third time I decide to order from them again but this time online. I ordered the burrito again for hubby, little one, and me. Hubby's burrito had everything as he had no modifications other than asking for green salsa. On the other hand the burrito, which i would be sharing with the little.... I asked NO RICE. I HAVE A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION and also indicated for NO Chili or salsa: Due to previous experience with them I got a hunch to cut the burrito open to inspect. No chili BUT what did it have? RICE! Had I taken A big bite as my appetite was telling me to do I would have been In The hospital right now!
Final note: I'd highly advise you order elsewhere or proceed with caution. Quality does not match price. For the price your are way better off with Gallo Girro. Alexander's is hit or miss with food. Order wisely and double or even triple check your food before consuming anything. The severity of my allergy and their mistake is too much of a high risk for me. Not worth it. I'll be ordering from La Playita in Lynwood or El Paisa who are two restaurants that have been good since I first began ordering from...
Read moreThis place should have a higher rating. It is a true gem in Compton. You walk inside this hole in the wall and you see posters of classic rock figures such as Kiss, Mana, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The doors and even the popular El Chavo Del Ocho. The service is excellent, the duo there work at a fast pace during the busy lunch hour to get your order ready. I got the torta Cubana which was loaded with milanesa, cheese, weenie, egg, onion, chorizo, ham, lettuce, tomato, in between a big bolio sourced from a local bakery. You this sandwich is massive and you need a partner to help you finish it. I also got to try the California burrito which is loaded with guac, carne asada, French fries, cheese, pico de Gallo, and crema. This place is worth checking out. Specially if you have a...
Read moreI wanted to give it a try since there was so many great reviews . The tortas were big however the meat had no flavor whatsoever. I had ordered ahead of time and when I arrived my order was not ready . Once the order was ready I only received 1/2 of my order which I realized it Once I started to drive by home. I called and the lady said it was not showing on her end . I told her I was charged almost $43 and I'm able to see it on my end .She then proceeded to tell me that she was able to see it now and she overlooked it. I had to turn around and wait for the rest of my order. We ordered 2 tacos as well 1 al pastor and 1 chicken and they did not even smell like it . It smelled like old oil and obviously we did not eat them . Overall the lady was apologetic but food was not...
