I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Avenue kitchen is the best restaurant in the DE, PA area!! I have been here several times with my boyfriend. This is our go-to restaurant! I love the depth of flavor in the soups; the in season freshness of the salads; perfectly cooked fries everytime; tender fresh shrimp appetizer; to die for quinoa black bean burger and capris sandwich; amazing complex entrees that never fail; I love love love the little beautiful puffed donut gadgets!! Those are absolutely the best! They also have amazing cocktails!
The service never fails! We have consistently had amazing top notch service by several different servers. We have also called for pick up many times. It's never an awkward feeling at the bar for pick up, always a welcoming experience!
Not only is the food the ONLY food worth going out for- and the servers are absolutely top notch. I had an interaction with the Management and THAT was phenomenal too!!
I thought that I had left my wallet at the restaurant. The next morning while at work I realized I didn't have my wallet! The last place I remembered seeing it was at Avenue Kitchen the night before. When I called and spoke with the manager Dana. She was so kind and helpful. From the first call I really felt like she was actually going to check and wasn't just blowing me off. I really felt hopeful and it was all because of her! Dana went completely above and beyond, she checked the hampers and the cameras. I was talking to her as she was pinpointing me on the footage. She even sent me a picture of what looked like me walking out with it in my hand (its a pretty small clutch). After looking at the picture it definitely looked like it was in my hand! I felt so relieved and Dana was super happy for me and hopeful! She spent maybe 2 hours or so on something that wasn't even left there! At that point I was just so happy that I would say for certain that it wasn't left at the restaurant and Dana made that possible!!
Turns out I must have dropped out outside my house and someone put it in my mailbox for me 😀.
But moral of this story is that Avenue Kitchen is the best restaurant in every aspect. With the best food, best service, honest and caring management why would you need to go anywhere else?

Read moreHonestly wanted to love this place more but unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. The hostess, Alison, was extremely rude and acted like she did not want to sit us. She told us they weren’t accepting any walk ins (while they had available reservations online AND open tables). She took our name & phone number down on a blank sheet of paper (which tells me that we’re the first/only customer to receive this information. She then asks, what is the longest time we’d wait for a table. I was confused because she should have told us what the wait would’ve been so we could have decided from there. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years as a hostess and this interaction was by far the worst. We literally walked to the parking lot at 11:20am, made a reservation for 11:30am, and came back in to tell her. She seemed super flustered and finally sat us down. We are people of color and completely felt discriminated against!
I ordered the Salmon Benedict and my eggs were far from poached. I also witnessed other tables near us unhappy with their food and send it back to the kitchen as well!
I can say, however, that the waiter Freddy was really nice and attentive! We also ordered the Crab beignets which were delicious! I don’t know if I will return to eat here again but please be weary, especially if...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. My family and I have eaten at Avenue Kitchen several times since it opened. We had not been to this restaurant in a few months so our party of five decided to try it again this past Sunday. Three of us ordered the blackened fish tacos. After waiting over 45 minutes for our lunch (and having seen several parties who were seated after us receive their food), we finally received our food. All three of the blackened fish taco orders were entirely unacceptable. The taco dish came with two soft tacos. Out of the six tacos at our table, four of them had one piece of fish the size of an index finger. One taco actually had two tiny strips of fish and the sixth taco had a piece of fish about an inch long with burnt skin attached. The taco dish was $15 and entirely inedible. What is more frustrating is that these dishes got past everyone in the kitchen and our server. Although the server offered to get us more fish, we declined since, by that point, we had been there for over an hour. After paying for all but one of the taco dishes, my husband had to stop at Whole Foods to get something to eat. We will not be returning to this restaurant. Your money is better spent at Chadds Ford Tavern just down the road or other restaurants in the area. Avenue Kitchen is just not...
