Hmm. I need to come back here again to see if I have a better experience. Cause I love bagels and coffee! Maybe my expectations were too high? First negative, their regular filter coffee was unavailable. Am I alone in thinking if regular coffee isn't available you should consider closing doors until it is??!? Dunno. Maybe it was temporary. Maybe a ploy to get me to buy an espresso beverage? First plus however, the capaccino I ordered as an alternative was superb. It's not my go to in the AM and it was pricey, but admittedly, wow, was really delicious. Piping hot, perfect foam-to-espresso balance, and the roast itself.. pretty darn amazing. Each sip was a true pleasure. I will stop in again for espresso drinks. Second negative, the breakfast bagel sandwich I ordered had too much cream cheese and was incredibly messy. When mixing cream cheese with egg in a sandwich you must use less! Egg, capers, and onions were drowned out and it was almost embarrassing to eat. Inevitably, I went through more than one man's share of napkins. Lastly, the main room against the wall was a bit drafty and cold. Even with all the pillows it was tough to eat slowly and put a good dent in my book. To end on a good note, they bake their bagels on prem in a stone oven! What the glorious heck?? But… every single time I get sandwiches here, at least one bagel has a mistake.

Here are my recommendations.

At the register, the person taking the order should read it back to the orderer to make sure they got everything. After the bagels are done, someone should give them all a final “does this match the receipt?” check before they are wrapped up.

You guys are on the path to becoming a big time restaurant staple in this area — but messing up orders is one of the things that will keep folks from coming back. Or maybe not — we are definitely going to keep coming back and will probably start opening all the bagels in the store to double check them. Your bagels are awesome, employees are awesome, this just seems like a small process thing that needs tweaking.

Pretty disappointed with my experience at this location. Went in at 9:30am on a Tuesday and ordered a blueberry bagel with honey pistachio cream cheese. They were out of honey pistachio cream cheese so I opted for the matcha vanilla cream cheese instead. I stated the bagel flavor twice and was given the wrong bagel - an egg salt bagel with the matcha cream cheese. Definitely not the flavor combination I was going for, but besides the bagel mixup, the matcha cream cheese was not my favorite at all. I also ordered a sesame bagel with plain cream cheese and it looks like they dont entirely clean off the knife when preparing the next bagel, so some of that matcha cream cheese got on my sesame bagel. Not the biggest deal, but the details matter! I love Spread and have been to a bunch of other locations and loved it…this location just needs some...
