The two stars aren't for the food but for the customer service given by our waitress. When we walked in we sat on the after hours side of the restaurant. Shortly after four more couples came and sat on that side. Before they sat down my wife and I had ordered our food. The couples that came in after we did got served their food first. Now I know things happen but as soon as the other couples were served their food that came in after us, the waitress brought our food. That tells me that she wasn't waiting on our food to be made. Also, keep in mind that we were the only African-Americans in the place and everyone else was Caucasian. I'm not saying that race was a factor but it certainly makes me suspicious. If something was going on that prohibited our food from being served first a courtesy conversation would have been appropriate. My wife and I won't eat there again.

UPDATE: Please see the response from the restaurant below. As you can see they are too busy defending themselves to see several key details that led to my conclusion. My wife and I waited an extremely long time for our food. Notice that their reply never even included a real apology. Again, if something delayed my food coming out THEY should have found a way to communicate that to me. That's what you call good customer service. It wasn't my job to bring anything to their attention. Additionally, whoever wrote the reply you don't tell me what I need to focus on. I'm an adult and I focus on whatever I'd like. Calm all the way down and realize you're not talking to one of your employees or someone who is beneath you. I was there. I saw what I saw and no half behind explanation will excuse that. Furthermore, you made a big assumption. I never said the food was good. Finally, you may resent whatever you'd like. It doesn't change the validity of my statement. As an African American I notice things that others may not especially in cases like this. Work on humbling yourself and try to be more accommodating. It's not like your food or customer service are five...

As i'm from Chicago I have been craving some Chicago/NewYork 'Hole in the wall'/'street' Pizza and Italiano foods and this joint is now my #1 'go-to' Only wish I knew about them when I first moved here!!!

-The PIZZA- Some people complaining about the way the pizza Tastes, looks or even how you have to sometimes eat it(Fork and knife) !!!IGNORE THEM!!! Pizza from Chicago and NewYork have their own flavors, textures and smells! Which is why they are famous enough to get their OWN City Titles. For a little over a BUCK you can get yourself a FAT slice that isn't DRIPPING with grease.

-The Appetizers- Where do I even begin, They're all so delicious and they are well aware of it! Best get the Sampler which comes with a handful of everything for 5 bucks! The fries are delcious and with 30 cent garlic knots you can fillup on Appitizers alone!

-The food- The rolls, salads,Grinders, House food are all so good that I cant narrow down my favorite! The Hot sandwhiches that come with HOT MEAT AND COLD VEGIES is by far my favorite perk!

If you love good, cheap food that is made with heart in mind EAT HERE! I just dropped 20$ on me and my Gal for lunch, Still had food left for Dinner and I'll still have Leftovers for breakfast tomorrow!

My only complaint, is that to deliver you have to...

Went 6/29/24 for lunch. Several employees there behind bar area talking to 2 Men coustermers eating at Bar. Waitress was seriously confused what steps to accomplish first. We ordered water w/ lemon. Was told they had mo lemons. We were ok with that but when waitress asked Young lady bartending she replied, we have no lemons and I really don't think they(us 2) would like to buy them. Well Russ & I do buy lemons weekly for our water so I didn't understand the comment. Weird.... Then we ordered a slice pizza each. Later had to ask for our water, then she came out of the blue with lemon slices on a lid top. Ok....set there a good 20 minutes then I ask her did she turn our order in to be made? She said a hesitant yes. Took forever to get our 2 slices. When came out crust was well, well done, items on top was right off the storage station. Not heated up at all. We ate it and paid, then lelfed. Actually the same 3 employees behind bar was still socializing to the same Men at Bar. We felt as they didn't need coustermers that day.... Sad because a few yrs ago we'd stand in line waiting on a table. Poor management and no friendly service, sad but true. Food was a 6 but again, we...

UPDATE OF MY REVIEW: 4/3/24 Came back for a second visit. Gotta say, Gabe, your counter man, is absolutely awesome. Love the way he interacts with everyone. I don't know if he is the owner, but he sure acts like he gives a hoot about Brooklyn's Pizzeria. I tried the Beef N' Dunk this time. Did not disappoint. Wouldn't mind a bit more flavor from the au jus, but still very tasty. Never see any employee who doesn't give a smile. Hats off to whoever put this team together!....****BE KIND TO SERVERS!!!**** 3/14/24 Nice to have an old school kinda vibe. Great prices. Fed 3 adults and I child for less than $50. Each a grinder plus kids meal and 2 appetizers. To go. Would have been more with drinks. $9 for a nice grinder - some are less. They do have a bar on the 'After Hours' side. Drink prices look reasonable. They are closed on Sundays. Definitely want to come back and try a pizza.

Hit or miss. When we went there at a non-busy time to pick up a pizza, we were able to sit at the bar, have a beverage & wait for pizza. Felt nice. Our second time back, they were busy; bar area was full, so we found a table in the dining area. Brightly lit, felt like a diner, not an Italian restaurant...zero ambience. Loud. Our waitress never cracked a smile, and it's NOT her fault that she seemed to have too many tables. And, we watched her spray a table after a customer sat down. Small table, so...spray mist in that guy's face. My chicken Parm was good, but my husband had a sandwich that was dry. Then we ordered dessert-to-go; tiramisu for me. Found that it was tiramisu in a cup. I will never dine here again, though I might pick up a pizza to go again someday...maybe. We'll see. Pretty mural on the wall, shows the World Trade Ctr.

What a disappointment. I used to frequent Brooklyn Pizzeria years ago and remember it was true to NY Style pizza as I am from NY where most of the pizza places are named Tony's and know what to expect. The pizza I ordered was overcooked, so of course the cheese was not melted correctly and the pepperoni couldn't salvage it. You know the kind where you can dip the crust in the grease. (not healthy but true to NY). I did inform the establishment to register my complaint. I did not request a refund or another pizza, the trip and wait would not have been worth it. I just wish the place would have been consistent and when a pie is overcooked, you apologize for even putting it in the box. You know when a pie is overcooked. My mistake for not checking first, real sorry I didn't. But know for sure, I'm done.
