Waffle House — Restaurant in Concord

Me and my wife came to this Waffle House Friday night it was packed like most after the fair. We had a server she must’ve been new tall nice eyes wears a scarf. she took our orders we watched her call them to the cook at the time his demeanor was very cold as she called our order we watched them tell her we wanted a plate (we did not) we heard her try to repeat our order with the same response she brought over what was plated and offered to take it back with a smile. We told her it was ok and the food was not to my wife’s liking. We came again on Saturday night per my wife’s request and was meet with the same warm smile we choose to again sit with the same tall server. Again she took our orders but this time she seemed under pressure her entire section was full and she was still doing amazing at taking orders at a timely matter another guy (Mike) interrupted her and called his orders and she waited then when it was her time the cook again told her our order was wrong (it was not) when she served us we caught a glimpse of the cook saying stupid that really bothered my wife. When she then returned to refill my wife’s drink she looked sad my wife asked was she alright and she just broke down and left. It was sad she just left another cook came to try and explain but made it seem like the server was unprofessional when she was the upmost respectful and professional. I am leaving this review because my wife was deeply upset about this encounter so beware we would not recommend this restaurant if you would not like to see you’re server verbally abused. And the cook was an older white gentleman that had a nasty cough that after hearing immediately made me and my wife just want to jump out of our skin. Went during first shift. Waitress didn't even write down our order, just asked what we wanted and tried to remember it to tell the cook. Good thing I heard her telling him, because I had to correct her as she was telling him the wrong things. Finally got the food we ordered and it was very greasy and not very good. She never even came back to ask us off everything was alright or if we needed drink refills. Let me add, the restaurant was not crowded at all. There was only one other couple there besides us. We decided we wouldn't ever go back. Well, one evening I was craving breakfast, so we decided to give them one more chance. So glad we did. The evening staff and food was the complete opposite of the morning staff and food. The waitress was great (we left her a very generous tip for exceptional service) and the food was delicious! I had breakfast and it was perfect. Couldn't have been any better. Hubby had a burger and hash browns and he said it was one of the best burgers he'd ever had. So my advice is if you go to this waffle house, go during second shift hours for good food. If you go during first shift hours, expect greasy nasty food and waitresses who play on their phone, laugh, play, and cut up with each otherand don't even acknowledge that you're there. The experience between first shift staff and food, and second shift staff and food was like night and day. Let me add, there was a manager there during our bad experience, and all she did was play around like the other employees, and was no help at all. I even had to get up and walk up to the counter to ask for more soda, and she acted like I was bothering her....

Very little coustomer service, the employees are all to busy socializing and playin on there phones to help customers, employees are also playing very inappropiate music off there phones while there are younger customers in the store, brought us part of our food (which was burnt and incorect) then the check never brought other part of order and got the order wrong, all the employees are to busy cleaning to get off their shifts to ever speak to the customers yet they will yell across the restraint at the other workers. Waitress had headphones in the whole time never came back to give us refills after over 30 mins of waiting and repetitively being walked past we finally got her attention when told about what was wrong with the order she had very short responce with an attitude once finally getting our food we asked to speak to a manager to find out there was not one on staff so we spoke to the most senior staff member who was very apologetic and helpful only one out of the bunch that was helpful, would not come back again, would give them no stars but that's not an option.
