I arrived at Dino's at lunchtime, right at 12:00. It was busy, which is expected. There was a man sitting in the chair to the left waiting for his order. The menu is exhaustive. So many items. I settled on a smothered steak tip sandwich, although with no description on the board, I was unclear what exactly it would be smothered with. I heard the establishment was good, so I thought a surprise would be nice. The gentleman that was sitting in the chair was given his food with an apology. Apparently, the order was placed somewhere that was not in view of the appropriate staff member and sat there for a while. The customer left so I took the chair. Tick-Tock. A half hour later, I asked where my sandwich was. They didn't know. The guy who took my order asked what it was. I told him. The chefs in the back shook their heads like they didn't know and tapped the tickets they had and shook their heads. I asked for my money back and suddenly a gal appeared with my order... the same gal who issued the apology to the other customer. Oy vey. They need to get organized.
My smothered steak tip sandwich was not smothered in anything. The steak tips were accompanied by some sautéed mushrooms, onions and peppers, but FAR from being smothered. I wasn't exactly sure what "smothered" was, but this was not as I expected. I thought it would be smothered by something... even cheese or... something. But no.
The bread was fresh. The steak tips were flavorful, but overcooked and dry. The sautéed vegetables were cold. The sandwich came with homemade potato chips, which would have been great if they weren't fried in the same vat oil as their fish. The flavor was polluted with a fishy taste. Perhaps they should fry their potato chips first thing in the morning so as not to mix the deep fried fish? What if I had a fish allergy?
Two stars is a gift. It was $16.50 for the sandwich, which I only picked at. Such a disappointment.
Oh and by the way, I did try calling the restaurant but they don’t answer...
Read moreBased on the reviews we decided to give this place a try. At first it seemed promising as the waitress was very nice and the menu was large. After we ordered we waited for the next 60 minutes and watched as countless takeout orders were filled and picked up. We sat there waiting and waiting in vain for our dinners to arrive. To add to the frustration another group came in after us, was seated, fed and back in their car before our dinners were served. We were told they called ahead but I don't believe it. Then, when our food did show up it was very disappointing. Our dinners were lukewarm, appeared to have been sitting at the waitress station too long, they were dried out, lacked flavor and our friend's burger was cooked twice past medium. The rest of our meals (kebabs, salads with chicken) were a solid MEH. We wished we had waited for our usual place (Walden Italian Kitchen!! closed on Sundays) to reopen... we were at Dino's so long on Sunday night that it seemed like an eternity and I found myself thinking Monday was just around the corner. Maybe Dino's just goofed up and back burnered us, but we won't be back to find out. Try it and you be...
Read moreJust moved to the area and with pizza being my favorite thing to eat I am on a quest to find my new local pizza place. We gave Dino's a try today and it was a good experience. We ate in the restaurant which has several tables with service. Our waitress was very nice and came over to seat us and take our order in a decent amount of time. Our food came out fast, as ordered and hot. We started with Buffalo tenders and they looked amazing which is only part of great food, they also tasted good too. Portion was a good size and overall presentation was nice. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza which came out shortly after the appetizer and I could wait to try it because it looked amazing! Overall the pizza was good, the crust was thin, had lots of cheese and just enough pepperoni. My only note that kept it from 5 stars was the pizza had a ton of sauce and it was on the sweeter side. Nothing bad just my personal preferences. Our waitress was attentive and came to the table just enough but not too little or too much. I will definitely go back and try it again, ordering with light sauce and to try out more items from...
