On a quiet Tuesday evening, my husband and I were looking for a place to eat, downtown Concord was where we happened to be. Many businesses were closed as it was after 6:00 pm and Union St was partially closed for infrastructure repairs. Not the most promising, but wait,we found a restaurant open! What a find it was! Neha could not have been more welcoming. After ordering our drinks,a plus that they have a favorite Italian wine of mine, we perused the extensive menu. After checking to be sure their veal is the " real thing ", not a processed faux veal patty,my husband ordered veal parmesan. I opted for chicken parmesan. We had their delicious bread with olive oil and Italian spice while we waited for our entrees. Our waitress was brief, and our expectations were well met! The veal and chicken were both well prepared, moist and tender, not dry,and the sauce was excellent as well. It is the sauce that you know has simmered all afternoon, the depth of flavor was that good. Even though we were pleasantly full, and had boxes to take home,we had to try the homemade cannoli! It was wonderful! Don't miss this gem of a place, we'll be back, this is authentic...
Read moreI had wanted to try Lo Fritos for quite some time and finally had the opportunity to do so and I am so glad I did! The atmosphere is great and relaxing, the staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful and the food is really really delicious! Everything that we ordered was prepared fresh to order, well cooked, very flavorful and we appreciated the variety that they offer, including the desserts which were really really good! Every restaurant has a different spin and a different character and there is no exception here, I found everything about the place refreshing and new and we will definitely be back again soon! The best part is that I can walk there from my office which means I will be able to go even more frequently and enjoy their varied menu and their culinary offerings. Bravo, Lofredo’s, keep up the good work. And Mike, it was great making your acquaintance as well. If you have not yet been to Loffredo’s and tried the out, you owe it to yourself, your families and friends to do so. Thanks. PS - we paste our meal and had such a nice and relaxing time that we were there almost 3 hours and every second was wonderful as...
Read moreI've now eaten at Loffredo's twice. Each time I've not been impressed. None of the ingredients seemed fresh or homemade. The Caeser Salad seemed like it was from one of those salad kits. My veal parmesan was ok, but the accompanying pasta and sauce was marginal and seemed to be store bought quality. My wife's pasta with vodka sauce was flavorless and lukewarm. She refused to finish it Just seemed like they got a bunch of prepared stuff from a restaurant supplier and warmed it up.
Service was generally slow and inattentive. When we ordered water to drink, they brought out cheap bottles of water. I suppose a fine dining restaurant would push nice bottled water instead of tap, but at a place like this, ordering water means tap water with ice. Kind of an upcharge scam. Prices seemed high for the portions and quality.
The menu is odd too. There are some odd ball fried appetizers and then a whole bunch of permutations on some pasta with some sauce with protein for an additional charge. It's just weird.
We ate there because nothing else in downtown Concord was open tonight. Next time, we'll...
