I have come to this store a few times now and had a pleasant experience until more recent times.
I am a Bandai games player, dabbling in Digimon, One Piece and recently Dragon Ball Fusion world.
The upcharge on Bandai product has become absurd. I recently obtained product from competing stores for the proper retail pricing, at $120 for a booster box and 14.99 for the recent starter decks. Buzz City games is charging 24.99 per starter, and bearly $180 after tax for their boosters. Buzz City is also charging near double original MSRP for upcoming preorders of OP-7 for one piece. They do not even host play for these card games anymore, or at the very least do not advertise it anymore. They are profiting off of the scarcity and limitation of product.
It’s incredibly frustrating for stores to follow this kind of practice. And as I’m told by previous players of digimon, this is something the store has a history of with limited product, charging nearly double retail for the original set release of Digimon as well.
I highly recommend price checking with other retailers and no longer giving this store your business if they are going to continue these practices. Support other Bandai stores so that they cannot receive product anymore and thus cannot continue to attempt to scalp it without regard to the player base.
There are locations nearly 8 minutes away that would be a better option for you than continuing to support bad business practice.
As for any future replies to this review, just consider this. Any explanation for a price raise in comparison to all of the stores that actually support play, selling for actual retail should hold absolutely no merit in your book. Don’t fall...
Read moreI frikin love this store. When you trade in your cards for in-store credit they don’t cheap out on you and the staff do their best to find what you need/want. I was there the other day, and I traded in a couple expensive cards for in-store credit and I honestly got a couple dollars more than I thought they were worth, I was planning on using the credit to purchase A LOT of cards that day. Not only that but they were a little over an hour away from closing and I felt super guilty but the staff reassured me it was no problem at all. They found me all 40+cards in almost no time flat, I’m going to keep coming until they don’t want me anymore or I buy them out. I suffer from really bad anxiety, specially the social kind and they made me feel so welcomed that I have no issues in keeping coming back. Hey guys if y’all are reading this it’s the guy who took home yalls “Nahiri, heir of the ancients” foil borderless and a bunch of other cards for a deck home and asked for more of Nahiris in the future. Thank you for your...
Read morePretty awesome space even during COVID. The highlights and areas to improve upon: +They have reserved rooms for people calling ahead! +great selection! Carrying a HUGE selection of games from Catan and warhammer to Battle tech and star wars legion. -The bathroom, or at least the men's bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned recently, which is an issue even without COVID. The men's bathroom uses a hot air dryer to remove water after washing your hands, which is fine, but an option for a paper towel would be appreciated as there are articles suggesting germa are spread by air hand driers. +hours of operation on Sunday. Sunday is a day usually most places close early and Buzzcity is open till 9pm! +carry Bobsmith glue and glue accelerator! -For now they have only 2 rooms it seems to reserve which is an issue if you are not fast to reserve a room.
Overall a 4/5 stars. A star lost due to the bathroom issues, and one star due to limited play area., but they at least have space open...
