I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at this restaurant tonight. This is a restaurant I have been coming to since I was a kid. I remember many nights coming in and sitting down and enjoying the atmosphere and the food. Up until today, it was the only place I would get my Chinese food from, because I would rave to everyone how much I love their food. Tonight I called and ordered my dinner. When I got to the restaurant, they gave me a completely incorrect order. I explain to them that that was not what I ordered and could they please fix it and their response was that I had said it wrong on the phone. I told them that I was sorry that they miss understood me but that that wasn't what I ordered and she said she would make it again while appearing very agitated. After waiting another 15 minutes , she brought me out my order which I brought. With me. When I got a few minutes up the street, I opened up the bag and realized that the order was still incorrect. They had only given me a small order of something when I had ordered a large. It wasn't a big deal but I wanted the large for all of the people I was feeding, So I went back. When I explained this to her, she told me that I was incorrect. She said that she knows what she heard and I did not say that. She was arguing with me and being very rude. I explained to her that once again, I was sorry she missed heard me but I would like a large white rice. She told me that the only way she would give me a large white rice was if I paid for another One since I said it wrong according to her I explained to her that I was very frustrated that this was taking so much time and that she made my order incorrectly so many times and was still asking me to pay the extra amount to fix the order. I asked her if I could have a conversation with her manager and she told me that she was the manager. I told her that I was really disappointed because I come there a lot and that I would not be able to rave about the service that I got there anymore with The way I felt I was being treated. She told me she didn't care. She said this is how she runs her business and I could talk to whoever I like. It really disappoints me that customer service is coming to this. I was trying to have a realistic conversation with her about why I was frustrated, and she...

edit: I left the 2 star review below about 2 years ago. Wanted to edit to add that, after checking the reviews from time to time ever since then, I’ve seen people have noted that the food was getting to be good again. So today I ordered two of my old favorite things: their sesame chicken and the fried Peking ravioli. I desperately wanted Tea Garden to be restored to its former great food quality like the reviews were suggesting. When I tell you I’ve tried nearly every Chinese restaurant in Concord, Hooksett, and Manchester areas as I was searching for a new favorite, I mean it when I say nothing was comparable to what Tea Garden used to be. Anyways, I have to say that the sesame chicken no longer tastes weird. It’s not exactly the same as it used to but it’s pretty freaking close! And it’s delicious. The dumplings are so good, once again. Maybe a little watery, I had to poke holes in them but I don’t even care. I am so excited to start coming back to Tea Garden and try the rest of my favorites! Thank you for turning this place back around (:

Old review here:

Tea Garden used to be my FAVORITE Chinese restaurant, like ever. Growing up with a parent in New York meant going to a lot of different incredible Chinese restaurants, but I always used to say that Tea Garden was comparable if not BETTER than a lot of Manhattan based Chinese food restaurants I have been to over the years . I always love to get the sesame chicken which used to be so perfectly crispy, the sauce was divine, and the pork fried rice was the best I had ever had. Something has changed. In November, my husband and I ordered from here for my birthday, and I was so unbelievably disappointed! The sesame chicken tasted like pad Thai peanuts, the fried dumplings I used to love now tasted like straight starch, the pork fried rice was way too soy saucey, my husband said the chicken fingers were just simply not good... etc. Everything was different. I was actually really sad because this was the best in concord, hands down. I just can’t in good faith tell anyone to come here and spend so much money on a meal that may be a huge let down. Now I’m not really sure what Chinese food place to go to anymore... all I know is it won’t be my...

I had an awful experience in the bar area months ago. A man pushed me and the bartender and employees didn't do anything about it. They accepted this behavior because he was a "regular". I had gone back a few times and the woman who was bartending that night, Lilly, was ALWAYS rude to me. She never smiled, she served us raw chicken, weak drinks that were just juice (a 20$ drink at that) and refused to serve us. She would talk to the other "regulars" upstairs in the bar about us and we would get stared down. This place has HORRIBLE customer service. The food is overpriced and has gotten worse over the past 5 years. The English is bad so when I ask about a certain dish they can't explain it. If you are looking for average overpriced quick"Chinese food" for take out this is your place but I would not recommend bringing children there, there is always drug dealing and sketchy people upstairs in the bar area, and when I called to make a complaint to the "owner", Vicky, about the raw chicken, about the horrible service from Lilly, how she said we were always trouble and all we were doing was sitting in the dining room, Vicky did nothing for us. She did not offer a free meal or a free drink she didn't even apologize all she said was that it was the kitchen's fault that the chicken was raw and that Lily didn't do anything wrong. Stay far far away from this place if you don't want your food raw and if you don't want to deal with belligerent drunk drug dealers upstairs on the patio this place is borderline dangerous. Oh and I just want to add that after I was assaulted in the bar no one would call the police the employees denied calling the police and said that it was my fault sort of thing. It's despicable and it's a horrible way to treat customers that are paying I mean I used to go there all the time for their food and just a place to hang out and I just cannot believe the way it has turned around after Vicky hired Lily. This is not a family restaurant do not bring your children here. I honestly wouldn't even give them one star but I'll give them one star for their...

Just back from a trip to Florida and for me there would be nothing better than a quiet evening with good company and great food. We stopped in at the Tea Garden in Concord, NH. It’s absolutely a great place for casual, relaxed dining. —Exactly what we were looking for! After finishing our Beef Teriyaki appetizer, we enjoyed generously portioned Beef Lo Mein and Szechuan Spicy Chicken with rice entrees. Everything was delicious. In fact, the food had that down-home heartiness of home cooked meals! SO Good! The pitcher of Chinese tea was very good as well; and it was Emily, our delightful Server, who mentioned that the Tea Garden Restaurant and Bar has been around for nearly forty years! —Lucky Concord! So yes, indeed! We wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem for their delectable authentic Asian cuisine, wonderful service and reasonable prices. FYI: Limited parking is available behind the restaurant. Dine-in or call to reserve dining on their outdoor terrace. Lastly,… Enjoy!

We got Gau’s chicken, White and Pork fried Rice, Crab Rangoons, and Chicken Teriyaki. I always get General Gau’s Chicken when I do Chinese, and I found that these for me were cooked too long, meaning the outside. The next time I return I will bring that up, for a shorter outer cooking time. Some of them were hard to cut. The taste was fine. My brother enjoyed the Crab Rangoon and said he would order again. The rice was staple for a restaurant. What surprised me was the Chicken Teriyaki, it was GREAT. I enjoyed the marinade tremendously. We just had water to drink as Tea was not instantly provided ( maybe if you asked ) but we were fine with water. The Waitress was friendly and accommodated us for more Duck and Hot Mustard sauces. Yes we will go back! The portions were good for us. There was soft Chinese rock playing in the restaurant, it was fine, and not too loud. This is not an elaborate place, but can pass as cozy.

I came here twice. 1st time greated by friendliest people.. 2nd time same...i like.consistancy...i dont know what they do to their chicken wings but thats my go to and OMG they nailed it very amazing!!! I enjoyed the house fried rice with no onions but the chicken did not wow me like those wings. The bonless ribs were yummy and perfection according to my 4 year old. My four year old inists we go back to see the kind people with the good food so we shall return to try more items on the menu and see what the rest of the family says.
