We had a mediocre experience. It’s a novel idea, but the hot dogs are just okay.
The biggest letdown, though, were the fries. We got potato wedges, fries, and sweet potato fries (I believe there was some sort of combo basket). Everything was underwhelming. It’s hard to make exceptional fries, so I don’t blame Buldogies for not figuring it out yet, but I’d visit again if the fries were better.
It was fun to get an egg on a hot dog. Maybe if I’m feeling fancy I’ll make myself a buldogie at home sometime.

Thanks for replying to my review. I’m honored that you took the time to do so.
1- my order was not to go. We came, sat down, and ordered. Now that I recall, it did take a good amount of time for our food to make it to our table, but I cannot comment on whether or not that was the reason the fries didn’t impress me.
2- I liked my buldogie. It did not taste bad. It just didn’t WOW my taste buds. For this reason I would say that the hot dogs are “okay”
3- we decided to eat at buldogies after looking at the google reviews and the images online. We were impressed with how the fries looked and were very excited to try them. Like the hot dog, they weren’t bad. But they were not as good as I had hoped. As a result, my experience at buldogies was mediocre.
4- the buldogies restaurant has a convenient location very close to lake Conroe, not too far from my home. In general, I really like awesome fries/potato wedges/etc. I was hoping buldogies would be a good place for me to get them. An okay hot dog with fantastic fries is still a win in my books, so for this reason I would justify a visit again if the fries had been better.
5- for anyone else reading this review: I am sure you will have a good time at Buldogies. The food is not bad. The service is not bad. Perhaps things have changed since I visited and the fries are exceptional and the hot dogs are amazing. You’ll have to go to find out!

“Hi, I am one of the owners of buldogies, Mediocre and underwhelming are two words that we aren’t used to hearing, which alarms me and I’m sorry your tastebuds felt this way. I’d like to dive deeper into your review on us. If you are going to leave a 2 star review based on the fact that you didn’t like the fries and that the hotdogs were just “okay” in your opinion, I’d like to know how this warrants us a 2 star from you? Did you get this order Togo? Togo fries are time sensitive, gotta eat em at the restaurant. If you thought the hotdogs were just “okay” why would you return again seeing as how you could just cook a buldogies at home if your feeling fancy, why come back? Im trying to make...
Read moreComing from a place that treated Hot Dogs as a food group, we have been longing for a great place to go since relocating here. We've tried them all here but nothing has come close to our beloved Portillos experience. That is until now. We stumbled across Bulldogies by accident. My son wanted a hot dog for lunch, the only place I knew was Freddy's. We like Freddy's but their hot dogs are just okay and so our Google search yielded this gem.
The thing that stands out to me the most is the experience and service. You could tell this is a small business, and not a chain. The owners were both there. They were very friendly and welcoming. They made us feel at home and thanked us on the way out.
The Chicago Dog was quite authentic minus the bun. Chicago style hot dogs are served on a poppy seed, steamed bun, mine seemed to be a toasted Texas toast variety which meant it was crunchy and not soft. All that aside, the hot dog itself was not the Vienna Beef variety but rather a Hebrew National. No matter, it was every bit as tasty and plentiful. My son ordered a strawberry shake and it was one of the better shakes we've had with real strawberries in it not just a syrup.
I would agree with a prior post regarding the prices being quite high on their hot dogs. For instance, their Chicago Dog was $8 compared to what I am used to with a Jumbo Dog being no more than $4.50 at our favorite Chicago Style places. That aside, they also had some very neat menu items like things you typically only see at a carnival or county fair. I found those items to be very reasonably priced.
We will definitely go back if for no other reason to support a small business who treats the...
Read moreIf I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Seriously the best hot dogs and breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever gotten to experience. First off the staff is amazing. So friendly and welcoming. Immediately they ask if you want a menu to look at all their options and everyone in the kitchen is laughing and having a blast. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure your food is delicious and you’re enjoying your experience. One of the chefs actually brought out a free sample of food that he was trying out for their menu. It was garlic toast topped with an over medium egg and smothered in delicious pork gravy. The best gravy I’ve ever had!
Once we got their food it didn’t disappoint. I got the ETC egg drop which is eggs, tots, and cheese. I got their garlic bread for the bread. My husband got their carne asada tots and added kimchi to it. Both were so damn good! I’m not a local resident and ended up coming back a day later before heading back to Cali. The next day I got their angry dog and my husband got their rice bowl. Another amazing meal. The worse part about going here was knowing that I wouldn’t be able to come here the next day. So sad I can only experience this delicious food in Vegas. Really wish they had a Cali location.
Overall an easy 10/10. Don’t hesitate to try Buldogis out because you won’t be disappointed. It’s a must eat Vegas eatery that I will be coming back to every time I’m...
