Prime Donuts — Restaurant in Conroe

Nestled in a small strip center next to a gas station is Prime Donuts, don't let it's unassuming surroundings fool you. It's a top rated local favorite, I've been here over 10 times now and always leave happy! Get there reasonably early to have access to the full arsenal of yummy fried dough with assorted toppings and stuffings! This last trip I tried their rendition of the Boudin Kolache, it was awesome! I've had other versions all over. some ok, most are pretty bad unfortunately, they can have a myriad of issues, especially the soggy factor. Not Prime Donuts! Theirs was terrific. My wife had an eclair of theirs filled with a cream cheese filling of some sort that was actually really good! The inside is simple and lots of pinks lol. Lately seems like donut places are overpriced and not that good. Prime Donuts is an exception you should try. I love chocolate donuts but hard to find good ones, Prime's are one of the best. Moist, cakey, great batter flavor and nice icing. Not too rich, just right. Glazed donuts usually seem like mouth full of sugar, Primes again has great buttery flavor with nice icing. If wanting something not so sweet, try the bacon egg and cheese croissant. Price was really good considering quality. Shop is small but super clean, up to date. Staff was super friendly. Plenty of parking. Easy to get to from i45. Give Prime a try!!!

Best of the non-‘made to order’ donut shops up north. The donuts are great and they have an above average selection of types (especially if unusual and/or candy toppings are your thing). Service is far and away the best up north. Only Yes is even remotely close. They also always toss in freebies which, yes, are actually free (unlike Sunrise).
