Crystal City Sports Pub — Restaurant in Arlington

My husband and I visited on Sunday April 22, 2018. I sent this same review to the restaurant itself. First, the positive. Our server was wonderful and friendly and so was the hostess that seated us. Our coffee was hot and we had plenty of refills. My husband enjoyed the buffet and said the food was great and a fantastic selection. The negatives kind of outweighed the positives on this visit. I had a terrible experience with the food. My husband was pretty much done by the time my food reached the table. I ordered the triple play and it took more than 25 minutes to come to the table and when it did, it was COLD. I asked the waitress if she could warm it up and she did so gladly. I got the same plate back again and it was still cold. I had asked for over easy eggs and what I got was hard rubber whites and half hard and the other half congealed yolks. The potatoes were still cold and the french toast was cold. I was never offered syrup so I didn't bother to even ask. The crispy bacon would have been delicious had it not been cold. I told the waitress the problem and explained that I did not want or need to be comped for the food. I just wanted the management/owners to realize there was a problem and fix it. My meal was comped which I appreciated. One other hiccup while we were there was the computer system went down which added at least 50 more minutes to finally getting our bill. While we were twiddling our thumbs, waiting, we watched three different parties get up and leave without ever being greeted or orders taken. When one table told a server no one had even taken a drink order he just mumbled something and walked away. What set them off is that the same waiter served another table their food and that table had gotten seated after them! If your customers are walking out without service or waiting to pay so they can leave, then the managers and owners better get their bodies in motion and help out. If the food out of the kitchen sucks like mine did, then you better reevaluate your cooks! I am not sure if we would return. I did notice the restaurant next door, Bob and Edith's Diner, was hopping and people seemed pretty happy.

I really hope this was a fluke because it seems like it could be a really cool place. Good luck improving your business. I truly hope...

Went here for dinner on 1/31/2023 as a party of 10. We were in the area because the very next day, we had a military family funeral to attend. We decided to meet up with some family members since they also came from far as well. There is parking that is right across the street in the little parking lot, so we parked there. The host greeted us with a smile, and we were sat right away with a long high bar table. Since this is a sports bar, there were tvs everywhere, which was good. our server was very nice and accomdating. We started with waters, then once everyone else got there, the server asked us if we wanted anything else, in which i ordered a pink lemonade, my aunt ordered a cabernet wine, and my mom ordered a titos with sprite. Not sure if anyone else got any drinks. Next, we ordered food. They had quite a few good specials on their menu, like i went for the Grilled salmon that was only 16.99! One of my cousins also ordered the chicken marsala from there which was also a cheap price. They also had burgers, salads, sandwiches, and other entrees on their menu. Pretty good choices for a sports bar i'd say. Finally we all ordered: from Grilled salmon to chicken marsala, to the crab cake sandwiches, to a kids pizza, to a chef's salad, to a cobb salad, to pasta. We ordered a bunch of food. After talking for a bit, the food came out, although some of the food came out early then they took out the rest of the food about 5 minutes later. not a bad thing though, just can annoy people if one didn't have their food like everyone else. However, we were fine. My grilled salmon was very good, and i very much enjoyed it. Others enjoyed their food as well. although the kids did order brocoli, but didn't really like it that much. i liked mine, so maybe it was just a matter of taste. Anyways, i like how our server asked if we wanted separate checks, and promptly remembered which check was which, and did pretty well serving us! We paid with credit card. We also hit the restrooms before we left, and they were very clean. overall enjoyed our dinner, and would come back if we are ever near this...

I have been here before and have had a good experience. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. First, we ordered three of the same mixed drink from their cocktail menu. Because there were only 5 or so drinks on the menu, we expected it to be one of their specialties. It was the blackberry ginger ale. Terrible. Our three drinks were all different in alcohol strength and that is all you tasted despite the blackberries in the drink. We asked the waiter for some ginger ale that we could add to our drinks because they were too strong. He brought two glasses of gingerale filled to the rim with ice and we were charged an additional $4.58 for them. Secondly, the chili cheese dog orders were laughable. There was barely any chili on them...maybe less than a teaspoonful. My hot dog bun was falling apart and I ate my hot dog with a fork. (Almost forgot, we had to ask for utensils). Third, the french fries... Clearly the food runner was not checking plates because I hardly had fries, but my husband had a decent amount. They were cold. Fourth, my daughter ordered a side of broccoli with her meal. We knew it was cooked from frozen because they were still cold- not cold from sitting out too long, cold like not defrosted. Lastly, we had 2 buffalo wings orders. They were not good. We left more than an order and a half on the table. We were so unhappy with our experience, we just wanted to leave. One ginger ale glass partially poured into our mixed drinks, one ginger ale glass full and untouched, an order and a half of wings, 3 unfinished mixed drinks, one side dish of broccoli remained on our table after we paid the bill of $74. I'm really sorry, but I dont understand the rave reviews about their food. Perhaps they were written by the staff or their families? On a positive note, they have a lot of tvs to...
