So I haven’t been here in some time, but I started going back in the last few weeks.
It was ok though a lot of work is needed to bring it up to its other location or the 4 other Mexican places which are close.
Their menu can be confusing and inaccurate depending on how you read it. Even after asking the waitress and telling her what I wanted, it not being accurate and her fighting with me instead of just making it right!
Then the Manager , at least so called Manager comes over to make it worse.
I don’t ever plan on going back.
The wait staff except one gentleman is clueless overall and spend their time flirting with the Manager instead of taking care of their customers.
The food is not bad, but not great either. The drinks have a lot to be desired as well.
The overall experience is Luke warm at best.
The Manager should be fired! The salad says it comes with avocado and the previous watered confirmed that.
All of the other Mexican places are better run than this one.
I would suggest one of them! At least they mostly understand what customer service is.
This restaurant has no idea!
Not to mention the birds are brave here and will come right up and steal your food.
Best choices close by, Chevys
Tacombi
All 2 are better than here.
Shirlington has Guapos which is about the best around, only a few miles away But you have to drive
Urbanos in Old Town. But the parking is a disaster.
So their main location never bothered to call me back or respond...
Read moreWe went to Los Tios for my sister's birthday. We will not be back and I do not recommend. We ordered margaritas and we had to ask them to salt the rims. We waited and finally had to ask for someone to come take our orders. As I was cutting into the burrito, I found a band aid inside my food. We immediately showed the waiter. The manager Ricardo came over and then proceeded to explain that not only was it a band aid.... it was a band aid who fell off a cook and was used for a covid vaccination. Honestly was not making matters better. He did offer to remake food but I no longer had an appetite. All he did was take my food off our bill (which makes sense since i didn't even bite into it) and try to offer a complimentary margarita. I didn't want another one. And there was no actual resolution to the issue. I just paid the bill (full price) so we could leave. I would understand the wait time by the wait staff had it been busy at the time but it was not with several waiters walking around looking at all the tables. I try to be understanding as I have worked hospitality and in the food service industry but this was not a pleasant experience and one i...
Read moreI am a fan of Los Tios and have been for years. The Alexandria. VA location has always been at the top of my list, and I've supported it for many years with their incredible food and great service. I honestly have to say that I was very disappointed with the Arlington, VA location. We were very displeased with our meals, they were not the usual Los Tios taste and quality, and the drinks were not what we were used to from the Alexandria location. We could tell that the bartender was substituting the liquor than we ordered for a cheaper brand. You can't fool people who know what they like to drink and have been drinking it for years, but we gave the bartender a pass on that. Please don't think that you're getting over on people because that's not cool.! Outside of the bartendinhg, the service was excellent, with a lot of checking in and wonderful welcoming smiles.
This experience will not discourage us. We will continue to support Los Tios Grill, but only Alexandria, Mt. Vernon...
