If you want a restaurant that you know that is always busy that being always busy means that you've arrived at the right restaurant then David Chu's is "THE PLACE". How would you like a restaurant that custom makes your dishes anyway you like it? David Chu's does and for an example I order for delivery (let me tell you about their delivery service- how would you like a restaurant that you call for delivery and when they arrive everything is done perfectly without the restaurant needing to return later if they forgot anything? David Chu's is your perfect delivery restaurant) a Mei Fan (thin angel hair noodles) with chicken and I asked if they could add cashews with it, No problem (yes, I expected them to charge me extra) I received everything perfectly done. You can even ask for no MSG and they comply without fuss. When you eat at their restaurant, they're as competent as their delivery. They are prompt in seating you and if you want a certain area-no problem. They take your order almost immediately. You're not rushed-you can relax and take your time eating-they don't shoe you out. I'm originally from Los Angeles and if L.A. would have a David Chu's, they would succeed as well there. I wish I could give...
Read moreBeing a frum jew in Baltimore, it is not very hard to get good kosher food. There are multiple pizza places, a BBQ place, but there is only one Chinese bistro. When I was younger, I was a classical kid. All i wanted was pizza. Then, I happened to be at a party where the ONLY food was General Tso's chicken from david Chu. I had never remembered really liking their food, however, I was hungry and ate some anyways. Then I ended up eating the rest of the pan. Now that I am 14 and our family makes a large order at least every month, I figured that I would at least find some food from them I would really enjoy. Now, almost every time we go, I order a full order of sweat and sour chicken and a plate of chicken dumplings. Their food never let me down. It always tastes delicious and their prices are pretty good too. Even in the evening, when the restaurant is packed full, they always get us a table withing 5 minutes. Whenever we make a reservation, we are led to our table within seconds. Their staff is always friendly and you never have to wait long to place your order. The food and the service merit 5 stars easily. Nowadays, I prefer going to eat at David Chu's more then at a...
Read moreWe dropped in as a part of a group of 12, meeting in Baltimore to celebrate a family birthday. They were very busy but found a way to seat us with a 15-20 minute notice, which was definitely nice.
When they set us down, they already had Chinese baked crackers (commonly served with soup) on the table, along with waters. They also provided a kettle of green tea as soon as we felt ourselves comfortable.
Not one of us didn't like the food (one person complained they cooked something that they didn't order, but agreed it was tasty).
Vegetable egg rolls tasted good to me (some at the table said they were weird, but I liked them very much) and egg drop soup was excellent.
Sesame chicken was delicious, so was General's chicken and sweet-and-sour chicken, which my kids definitely enjoyed.
We ordered two chef's steak specials -- both were very interesting, I would definitely order both again.
Overall slightly pricey (about $275 before tips and taxes, about $23 per person), but the food is excellent. If we had such a place near us, we'd likely go very often. Definitely happy to come back again when we'll be in the area. Really...
