I was pleasantly surprised to find a halal restaurant in the area. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about trying it, but after ordering a few itemsâincluding the âMixed Chicken Gyro & Lamb Gyro Over Riceâ and the âLamb Gyro on Pita Breadââmy doubts quickly turned into appreciation for the food itself.
Food Quality: The lamb was well-seasoned and full of flavor, with a generous blend of spices that made it stand out. The accompanying ingredients were fresh, prepared correctly, and balanced the dish nicely. Despite the issues I experienced with my order, I have to give credit to the quality and taste of the foodâit truly exceeded expectations for a local halal option.
Service Experience: Unfortunately, the service did not meet the same standard as the food. When placing my order, I requested the âMixed Chicken Gyro & Lamb Gyro Over Riceâ with extra lamb and chicken, as I prefer a heartier portion and fully expected to pay extra for it. The cashier seemed unsure how to handle the request, responding with little clarification before proceeding with the order.
When I arrived home, I discovered two issues: first, there was no extra meat despite paying for it, and second, the meal was incorrectâit contained only lamb rather than the lamb-and-chicken combination I had ordered.
Overall Impression: Despite the service hiccups, the meal itself was flavorful and satisfying. While I typically drive out to the halal spot in Frederick by H-Mart, Green Cafe will be a convenient alternative when I want good halal food closer to home.
Summary: *Food Quality: Excellentâwell-seasoned lamb, fresh ingredients, delicious flavors. *Service: Confused ordering process, missing items, and accuracy issues. *Overall: Worth visiting for the food, but service consistency needs...
Read moreTL;DR: If youâre on a road trip and tired of fast food, give this place a try!
Full Review: SUCH A SHAME for this place with really good food to be hidden away in an old shopping center. I was on a road trip coming from NYC and just so happen to learn about this place when driving through Martinsburg. There wasnât huge amount of reviews but we decided to give it a try. I ordered the lamb gyro over pita and my buddy ordered chicken gyro over rice. Just note that its a very simple menu, so donât expect special orders.
For anyone that just so happens to be driving through this area via I-81 southbound, stop by and give this place a try. Itâs roughly 9 minutes off the interstate and one of the better options over the generic fast food.
As for the atmosphere, the place is SPACIOUS but with little seating. Donât let the atmosphere discourage you from eating here. Itâs nice and relatively quiet. Just be aware that there is an indoor playground next to it.
As for service, food was appropriately priced and was hot n ready in roughly 3 mins.
It might just be me, but the food is good enough to almost plan a route through here just to order again once I head back to NY.
Side Note: For anyone that likes to eat outdoors, there is a nearby park known as âwar memorial parkâ thats 9 mins from the restaurant and less than 3 mins from the park to go...
Read moreI have no idea how you have a high rating. I ordered a "Milk Boba tea"... one sip... Disgusting. I then asked the manager if I could have another flavor, after telling him I didn't care for the flavor. I was super polite abd friendly. He looked at me and said, "Sure, that will be 6.35$" um... guy... your in a SERVICE industry. He stated "we don't issue refunds or exchanges"... Like... would you really be losing money if you just made a flavor that tasted better? Then I told him no, and suggested what resolution we can come up with and he WALKED AWAY FROM ME. Then another worker looked like he really wanted to help me, but said, "Sorry, he's my manager". Well... sir. The Milk tea was terribly made. So, I'd give you zero stars. Way to serve your community with disrespect, mediocre beverages, and a lack of professionalism. I threw the drink away. Sir, I'm sorry you hate your job, it's not the end of the world to just make someone a Boba tea they enjoyed. Then, the star rating would be...
