We had a coupon for Rodizio which offered one meal full price, with a 2nd meal at 50% off. The extremely small type on the back clarified the offer saying that the first meal was to be the Full Rodizio and the 2nd meal was to be of equal or lesser value. After we arrived at the restaurant and were seated, the waiter came to our table and told us that we had two choices: the Full Rodizio for $49 and the unlimited salad buffet for $30. My husband chose the Full Rodizio and I selected the buffet. The Full Rodizio included the buffet plus unlimited choice of meats brought slowly around on skewers: beef, lamb, fish, chicken, chicken hearts, sausage, perhaps pork, I don’t recall, and pineapple. My husband complained that the quality of the beef and lamb was below par, being tough and fatty. The chicken was dry, he didn’t finish the sausage and didn’t have the others. The fruit, vegetable and seafood items on the buffet were quite good and plentiful. I tried a bit of the beef stew, the meat was stringy, and I didn’t try the chicken stroganoff, it just didn’t look good to me. The problem came when we got our bill and presented our coupon. We were told it didn’t apply because we didn’t have two Full Rodizios. I pointed out the 3-point type on the back; the waiter left to speak with his manager. After a lengthy wait the manager came to the table. While ignoring me, he started to talk to my husband. I told him to talk to me, He obviously wasn’t pleased with that! He repeated that the coupon didn’t apply. I again pointed out the 3-point type on the back, which he truly seemed surprised to see. He left to speak with the Executive Manager. This is all for $15 you understand. After another lengthy wait the Executive Manager came to our table saying that they would make this one exception for us!! Really!! They offer two meals, one $49 and one $30. They publish a coupon that essentially says if you buy the $49 meal you can get 50% off either another $49 meal or the lesser $30 meal. The managers were saying that the buffet was not a meal but a salad. I’ve never considered beef stew or chicken stroganoff a salad! I don’t know, maybe in Brazil it is! To summarize: a) most of the salad buffet was good and plentiful b) for an additional $19 the meats presented were below par and c) customer service was absent. And to add to our unpleasant experience, they were playing their background music so loudly my husband and I could hardly speak to each other without leaning across the table. AND if their coupon was only meant to give a 50% discount on the 2nd of two Full Radizios, then it should clearly state that, instead of clearly stating something else. We will never go back there again. There are too many good restaurants in Sarasota to put up with...
Read moreI'm trying to give a fair review that's accurate. I had 5:15 reservations for a Father's Day dinner with my sons. We got there at 5:10 and couldn't get into the building. The crowd was that bad . I finally get to the desk and all 3 people ignore me . The guy takes a phone call, and the 2 blondes are busy doing something on a computer. The woman in front of me doesn't have reservations, but has a long talk with them. I continue to be ignored . I finally am able to say to a blonde woman " I have reservations". She checks me in and we then sit on a bench to wait because our table isn't ready. Its being cleaned . She comes back 5 minutes later and tells me the table is still not ready because they're now sweeping under the table. We finally are able to be seated, and she warns us the table is still wet from cleaning. We now wait for the waitress. Sweet young girl who introduces herself as "One of your servers ". She tells us that because its Father's Day there is only one option: the $59 full buffet. I say fine. We go to the buffet and it was incredibly mediocre. Bland unseasoned white rice. Very salty mashed potatoes. Other mediocre stuff. The salad bar was nothing special. The dessert bar was even worse. We sit back down and I taste things and wait for the servers to come with the meat. My sons get every type of beef. They seemed to like most of the beef steaks. I then got them the Prime rib from the carving station. That was their favorite. I can only eat chicken. After another 25 minutes I'm still eating a roll and mashed potatoes that are incredibly salty. No chicken guys in sight. The girl waitress comes to check on us and I have to tell her that I still haven't really eaten anything yet because I can only eat chicken and the men with the chicken are nowhere in sight. Overall , besides her, the service was terrible. It was a disturbing experience for other reasons too. There's nowhere to walk, its so crowded. Which is bizarre because half the tables were empty. I finally get some chicken and both the roasted chicken and the sweet and spicy chicken were good. Not excellent but good. What I don't understand is how is it that each meal is worth $60 ? Even if you eat the beef, how could a few pieces of different steaks and some prime rib combined with a mediocre salad bar be worth $60 ? The check came to $225 with the tip. For 3 people. The meal was worth maybe $75 total for the 3 of us. I honestly totally regret going. I'm sorry , but I do. Also : Fogo de Chao in Houston was...
Read moreUpdate I would like to update this review as Gabriella, the manager of Rodizio’s reached out and apologized for the experience we had, and extended an offer to make it right! We visited the restaurant about 2 weeks after the initial experience due to our schedules. We let Gabriella know the date we wanted to revisit as she requested. When we arrived this time we were immediately sat at our table. Shortly after Rodolfo our server greeted us and was very prompt with our drinks. Not long after the red meat started to flow, and fast I might add!! Still had chicken, chicken hearts, pork but it was very nice to see a variety of all meats and not just chicken or pork. I want to give a shout out to Angelo as well as Ramon. They are amazing food runners and very hard workers. They are fun to be around and definitely brighten the experience. Overall our experience this go around was a night and day difference. Service was amazing, food was amazing. Drink orders were correct. Special thanks to Gabriella for reaching out and making things right for my fiancé as well as my parents. We look forward to visiting Rodizio’s Brazilian Grill on future special occasions.
Quite disappointed in Rodizio’s this go around as this was my fiancé‘s 29th birthday and this was where she chose for her birthday dinner. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM and arrive a little early as we were accounting for traffic. The place was not all that busy. Half of the restaurant was being used while the other half was completely empty. Roughly 20 minutes after our reservation had passed our table was finally ready. The manager had to greet us to get our drinks. All drinks came to the table correctly except for my father’s. I had to go up to the bar to get the correct drink for him as we never saw a server until our meal was over half way done. The salad bar was less than impressive than usual. Buffet style food looked like it was reheated. For the first 30 minutes of our full Rodizios experience we only saw chicken and pork. No red meat. They did come over and sing and bring ice cream at the end and that was nice but I have to say I was quite disappointed in the entire experience. Under staffed, for not being that busy. Poor quality food, service was sub par. This is not the norm for rodizio’s but makes me nervous to return. Attend with this...
