My husband and I had a rare night out without the kids so we decided to try a restaurant than is a little outside our normal comfort spots of steak, Italian, Mexican or Americna cuisine. I am a fan of Thai food, and I never get it, so I suggested we try Sense of Thai. And boy we will be back! I cnet wait to try other things on the menu!
We waited only a short bit (10-20 minutes) to be seated, which isn’t bad considering it is Friday night. The place is crowded for sure and we sat at at a two too that was lined with other two tops along the whole wall… one side bench seats and the other chairs. So if you don’t like to be cozy with other diners this might not be your spot. Unless you request and want to wait for one of the booths along the window.
We ordered the Heaven Beef with sticky rice as an appetizer and it was yummy! I could have had a whole meal of it! It comes with a sriracha dipping sauce which, of course, is great. For out meals I had the Chumphon Pad Thai and my husband had the Crying Tiger. The Pad Thai is listed in the menu as a “Best of NOVA” winner so I figured it must be good. Both dishes are spicy but I am a person who loves spicy so that was fine with me!
When our meals came out I was amazed at the portion size! A pile of noodles covered with a fried rice egg like it was wrapped in it. And it was so good! Temperature was great and so was the spice. There was so much that I couldn’t eat it all and brought it home for lunch the next day.
My husband also enjoyed his Crying Tiger (flank steak) but he is not as big a fan as spicy so couldn’t eat it all. I tasted it and thought it was perfect. But he did save it for the next day! His portion was definitely something that could have been eaten in one sitting. It also comes with sticky rice or you could choose steamed veggies.
Our waitress was polite and prompt. We had no issues with service.
We will definitely be back when in One Loudoun. And I think, thanks to this place, my husband is no longer unsure of Thai...
Read moreContrary to many of the past reviews, my experience was egregious and culturally pugnacious. On Saturday July 23 at approximately 10-11pm, I decided to try some of the food in Louden County as a night outing with my family (wife and child) Although we did not intend to sit in and dine, we agreed to take-out. Myself along with another couple and their children accompanied us to the Thai Restaurant. As out of state PA residents we were captivated by the physical presentation of the meals prepared and thought it was best to dine at this location. As we prepared to enter the restaurant, I was searched by one security officer that checked identification. As I patiently waited in line, I noticed there was a plethora of young people ranging between the age(s) 21-24 who were very enthusiastic to enter the dinning edifice. When I shared my state ID with security, he immediately pulled out his flashlight, and examined my driver’s license in a very fastidious manner, stating that it looks “fallacious.” Such practices and behavior was contrary to other Euro-American patrons that entered without pre-judgment. What is more , I was enthralled that the moment a 6 foot 4 inch, 240 pound African Male with with Long Locs and a Big beard seeks entry, notions of criminality, castigation, and violence permeates and shapes the thinking of the smaller-Asian security guard. It’s interesting to see how other ethic groups have not only been absorbed into seeing Blacks as “idea others,” but also how they see us through a bellocostic lens…. Indeed, .I am mindful of the current psychological disposition of the nation and the responsibilities of the security apparatus, yet I can not rule out a experience that has been shaped by racism. As a result, I think management should engage in the practice of cultivating practices that better inform employees how to appropriately influence salubrious social relations. In doing so, would foster conditions and reverberations that are both pro-social...
Read moreupon arrival, we entered and were awkwardly positioned at the front of the bar. without a host present, or designated wait area, we waited for about 7 mins to be greeted. your host when she showed up decided to greet the man next to my friend and i, completely ignoring us however did noticeably see us. i was surprised when the kind man actually admitted to the host that my friend and i were there before him, waiting longer, to when she still looked at us and did not help us right away- she continued to help him! at that point, it was really awkward as all of us are paying guests, the only visual difference was our skin color - just being honest here. when we finally sat, the server was clearly trying to go home. at first i thought he was an SA, he never mentioned who he was or even said hello. he was just there to basically wait on the table, that's it. he lacked so much personality it was honestly sad like maybe he is being tortured to be there or something, idk. the food was okay- i feel like for the cost it was super average. my favorite thing i ordered was the Lychee thai tea. besides that, i wouldn't order the calamari or chiang mai noodles again. it kind of sucked because i met up with a friend i haven't seen for a year, we were so excited to see each other and i just reminisced on better experiences i have had - and we could have had - in this particular location. you are at a higher end facility and chose to work in hospitality, just embrace it. that's my advice. and if you're sick of not making good money, better service =...
