𝚅𝚘𝚘𝚍𝚘𝚘 𝙳𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚗𝚞𝚝𝚜 | Universal City, CA | 3.5/5 I went to @voodoodoughnut at @unistudios @citywalkla ! Voodoo Doughnuts original shop first opened in downtown Portland Oregon and since then they have expanded to 9 locations in 5 different states! I would always hear the hype of Voodoo Doughnuts! I finally tried them and ordered the 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙣𝙪𝙩. ($2.75) It is a chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate frosting and Cocoa Puffs 🤤. I’m a sucker for chocolate so that’s why i picked this one! The frosting was sooo good and not too rich and it paired so well with the crunch of the Cocoa Puffs (one of my fave cereals 😍). The chocolate cake doughnut itself is what threw me off a bit 😭. It’s my bad i didn’t realize it was a 𝙘𝙖𝙠𝙚 doughnut because it was a bit too dense for my liking. It was good it just wasn’t what I was expecting so I think I would have preferred one of their “raised yeast doughnuts”! Next time i go i will be trying those 😍. The price point is honestly very reasonable too. With a place as talked about as Voodoo Doughnuts i though they would def be taxxin $5 a pop 🤣! The shop itself was so cute and had pink everything which i loved 😍. The revolving donut case was my personally favorite addition. Also shown: my BF got the 𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 doughnut! ($1.95) Have you tried them out before? Are they worth the hype? - #food #foodporn #foodie #bayareafood #foodblog #foodphotography #foodgasm #foodlover #foodoftheday #foodshare #foodstagram #foodpic #yelp #foodlove #bayareafoodz #bayareafoodie #yummy #yelpelite #yelpelitesquad #voodoodoughnut #doughnut #losangelesfoodie #LAfood #socalfood

very friendly staff..highly recommended .. Suger hit.. love them all.. Two of their doughnuts, the NyQuil Glazed doughnut and the Vanilla Pepto Crushed Tums doughnut, are no longer available due to order of local health officials. According to one of the co-owners, "the NyQuil one was kind of a lark, but that’s the one that got the most famous. With the Pepto doughnut, I honestly thought if you had that shot of tequila you shouldn’t have at 2:00 a.m., and then you got sugar, bread, Pepto, and Tums, you’d either feel better or puke your ass off and then feel better because you got it out of your system. So it was a win-win either way."[17] On December 24, 2008, Voodoo's "Portland Creme" was designated as Portland's "Official City Doughnut" by a resolution introduced by Portland Mayor Tom Potter and passed by city commissioners the same night. The resolution also expressed Portlanders' "deepest gratitude to Voodoo Doughnut management for its dedication in the face of these stringent economic times in providing employment opportunities... and above all, creating and naming a doughnut after our beloved city that leaves a lasting taste and fond memories on its customers near and far away."[18] Later, mayor Tom Potter and mayoral candidate Sam Adams attended a regular midnight doughnut-eating contest.[7] Locations To celebrate their fifth anniversary, Voodoo Doughnut opened a second location at 1501 NE Davis Street in the Kerns neighborhood.[3] The store began a "soft opening" on May 30, 2008 with limited hours. The official opening occurred in June 2008 and was rung in with a parade that led from the original location to the new one.[1][19] In their first foray outside of Portland, Voodoo Doughnut opened a third location in Eugene, Oregon, at the corner of Broadway and Willamette in downtown Eugene. The store began a "soft opening" May 7, 2010 with limited hours. The official opening occurred on June 5, 2010. This location also contains the chain's traditionally whimsical decor, in addition to a piano in the seating area and a velvet painting of a crying Conan O'Brien with animated tear drops. For the 2010 edition of "Best Of Eugene Weekly", Voodoo Tres won "Best New Addition To Eugene" and "Best Downtown Business."[20] A fourth location has opened in Denver, Colorado, and a fifth in Austin, Texas. A seventh location has opened in Universal City, California at Universal CityWalk [21], and an eighth in Orlando, Florida. (WikiPedia)

The doughnuts at Voodoo Doughnuts are known for their creative and unusual flavors. Some of the most popular flavors include the Bacon Maple Bar, the Voodoo Doll, and the Glazed Old Fashioned. The shop also offers a variety of other sweet treats, such as doughnuts holes, coffee, and other beverages. The atmosphere at Voodoo Doughnuts is fun and quirky. The shop is decorated with a variety of strange and unusual objects, and the staff is friendly and outgoing. I recently visited Voodoo Doughnuts at Universal Studios CityWalk with my family. We were all very impressed with the doughnuts. The flavors were creative and delicious, and the doughnuts were fresh and hot. We especially enjoyed the Bacon Maple Bar and the Glazed Old Fashioned. The prices at Voodoo Doughnuts are a bit high, but the doughnuts are worth it. The lines can also be long, especially on weekends. However, the wait is worth it for a taste of these delicious and unique doughnuts. Overall, I highly recommend Voodoo Doughnuts at Universal Studios CityWalk. It's a great place to go for a unique and delicious doughnut experience.

Tried the apple fritter ibstead of a traditional doughnut. The dough was soft, fluffy and tasty. Barring the sugar (I avoid sugar as much as possible) it's taste was on point. The sugar was too much for me personally. When I go next I will ask if they will make one without glaze. They bake continuously during the day so they are really fresh. The apples tasted great, even if again there was too much sugar for my taste. There were only 3 small pieces of apple in this decently sized fritter the size of my hand. I was curious about their coffees but i was watching a movie at night so I passed. Next time I wanna try. The line was a little lobg because there was one staffmember baking while the other was taking and fulfilling the orders. So anytime someone ordered a drink she had to her barista thing and the line came to a crashing halt. Otherwise the line moved nicely.

I had their donuts in the Orlando universal studios as well and loved them so I decided to come to this location too! The quality of the donuts are very consistent and extremely high quality! They’re very soft and fluffy yeast donuts, no deep fried oily greasy taste either and definitely tasted very sweet. Since it is COVID times now, they’ve cut down their menu to about only half of what they usually serve. I was so disappointed that they didn’t have the mango filled donut that I loved so much when I had it in Orlando. However their current selection didn’t disappoint me at all! I brought them on my flight to Las Vegas and walked around the vegas strip with the donuts. Many people were eyeing the pink box and some even came up asking where I got them hoping there was a location in vegas! It seems like they’re extremely popular!
