Slightly more convenient than eating inside of Universal is the biggest upside. We decided to skip the long waits inside the park and try City Walk for dinner before leaving Universal Hollywood this go around. This place had the best reviews and had no wait so we grabbed a table. The place is clean and the staff was nice. Service was alright as we only saw the waitress to order and pay and the place was far from busy. Menu is what you would expect from a sports bar with slightly higher-end options when it comes to burgers and chicken sandwiches. Prices are pretty in line or slightly better than what you'd find in the park, but the food we tried wasn't Impressive. Kids menu burger came out so charred it was inedible for a 6-year-old, chicken tenders were fine though. Wife and I ordered burgers and both were decent, but extremely greasy and heavy. The place feels like they just coat everything in butter before it's served and it feels a little over the top. Fried pickles were good, but the star, for me, was their macaroni and cheese. I should've gotten the entree version instead of the burger. Not much more worth saying about the food and the service overall was just ok. Not a place we'll go back to, but save a await if your looking for some hearty food in a hurry after Universal. To be fair, the place is nice and looks to be a lot more fun later at night; just temper your expectations if your eating with your family. Any time I see a place like this that looks clean and organized, but the food falls short, you can usually bet it was just an off time. I think a lot of people will like this place, just didn't work that well...
Read moreMy bf and I visited here after a full day at Universal Studios.
Ambiance/Environment: If youâre into sports, then obviously this is the spot for you. There are flat screens everywhere showing the game. It was football season at the time. They have a large space with plenty of seating for all group sizes.
Service: Shout out to our server Elijah! He was very attentive, outgoing, and efficient! Every conversation we had with him was absolutely hilarious. He also wished me a hbd and even gave me a complimentary ice cream! Such a thoughtful gesture!
What we ordered:
Potato Skins - We ordered these as appetizers. It came with 5 pieces. There was a generous amount of melted cheese, pieces of bacon, and some burnt ends.
Jalapeño Burger - My bf ordered this with three 8 oz patties and tater tots. Not sure how he had the appetite to eat all this after a long day walking USS. He somehow devoured the entire plate, so Iâm assuming he enjoyed this. Even Elijah was shocked lol.
Farmhouse Fried Chicken - I ordered this. The fried chicken was definitely buttery! The breading was seasoned well, and it cut sooo easily! The creamy mash potatoes were also delicious, and the vegetables tasted as expected.
Pricing: Everything was worth it. Very fulfilling and...
Read moreI was traveling with a large group (28) and this was the only restaurant in the citywalk that would let me make a reservation without calling their corporate office or talking to a special employee. Which is usually a hassle because then you are on hold forever or you have to wait for a call back and then they try to give you a reduced menu and often try to make you pay extra to reserve a room. So I was totally frustrated with all the other large restaurants in the citywalk. I was willing to split the group up into several smaller groups to make this easier for the restaurant but luckily NBC Grill helped us out. So I was impressed. In fact Buca Di Beppo was totally rude. They were the first place I tried because I know they take large groups. They tried to push me to corporate so I said I'd rather just do 3 groups of 10. They said no. So I asked if I called back 3 separate times for a table of 10 would they do that. She said that she would recognize my voice and not let me do it. I thought that was going out of their way to lose business. I will never go to Buca Di Beppo again. NBC grill was a little overwhelmed initially by my call. The person that answered the phone was new. But that person told me that they would get it figured out,...
