My husband and I drove 35min to come try this place after we saw it on the news. We had the unicorn elote, the takis elote, the surfers snow cone (off menu), texas brisket frito pie and the tropical pickle (off menu).
First of, nothing annoys me more when places put on a show for the news, but in real life it's nothing close. This is exactly what these people did. The Texas Brisket Frito Pie was half the size and half as appetizing. I had to ask her to put crema on the frito pie even though that's how it's supposed to come. It was small and in my opinion, over priced for the size and lack of Chile con carne they claim to put on. But again, i expected the portions they showed on TV. Takis corn wasnt the best, but the unicorn elote did win me over. Most enjoyable thing we both had. The tropical pickle was not on the menu, but they do mention it on their social media so have a picture ready to show them when you ask for it. It's an overpriced pickle cut in half with two small scoops of mango shaved ice and chamoy. My husband wasnt impressed and said it was "nothing out ofthis world".
The surfers shaved ice? Lord. It was the saddest thing you have ever seen. It looks NOTHING like what you saw on the news! Its flat, watery, more gummies than actual ice, and again, they forgot to add pickles. I was too annoyed at this point and didnt bother to ask for the pickles that were SUPPOSED to be in there.
Also, i want to add that there is little to no organization when it comes to taking orders and them getting food out. They don't give you an order # so you just have to keep track who ordered before you.
I want to add that everything here LOOKS great on pictures, and had we not had such high expectations of this place (because of how they advertised their food on the news) i think we would have enjoyed it a little more. We came in wanting to love it and that's what killed it considering what the reality was.
My husband and I follow the news and we try 5 star highend restaurants to hole-in-the-wall snack snacks on the south side. We were crazy excited to try this and we left with...

I ordered what I thought was a $6-$7 Piccadilly, was charged at $12 plus tax. It had no alcohol and was a regular size. I mentioned the total felt too high, and asked for a breakdown of how much each items cost. Everything was sold slightly higher than the prices online when you order, higher than what you find from this Google page, or the few listed on the drive through window (the main menu has NO prices). Also, they charge almost an additional 4% if you use a card. It was shocking about the $12 Piccadilly, I wouldn’t have ordered if that was the price shown! His lame reply to my dissatisfaction on the hidden price was “take it to the big boss” and “heard that before about the price”. He was disrespectful, never said sorry. Was I blatantly getting ripped off? Lied to? I couldn’t wrap my head around the situation. This didn’t sit well with me, so I asked for a refund on the $12 drink (should have the whole order and tip). He closed the drive through window, and I waited for a long time while the line of vehicles grew. After a few attempts at trying to get his attention various ways (knocking, ringing, honking) he finally came back to the window to say “his machine was connecting, pull around” with obvious frustration, and abruptly closed the window again. And then another super long wait without communicating. Guess it didn’t matter to him that my family was in the car, waiting uncomfortably. My thoughts: if you don’t like your job, quit. Realistically, I can’t think of anyone who would want to deal with this type person at a place of business, especially serving consumable items. If the actions and verbal disrespect are part of the of the work ethic, how is food handled? I don’t want to deal with the feeling of being ripped off, the deceitful pricing, or terrible employees asking for a tip like the main priority, or wondering if food is handled properly, so I won’t go there again. Too much BS to sort through. Nor will I suggest it to...
Read moreSo the treats are good (that’s the reason for 2 stars) but they are so unorganized and not careful enough. I got a shaved ice because they ran out of what I wanted, and the sad thing was she didn’t even fill my cup 100%, I think I got my cup filled to 3/4s (I wish I had taken a picture as proof) I normally don’t like to argue or be that difficult customer, so I didn’t tell her anything, but I am leaving a review now for a few reasons: The girl didn’t want to take my cash because they didn’t have enough cash to give me my change back (I paid with a $20 bill) but in their menu, it says you will be charged 2.99% or 3.99% (I forgot exact amount) extra if paid with card, or you will get that % in discount if you pay with cash. I mean, come on! If you have that in your signs, then abide by it and be prepared. I normally try not to affect small/local locations, but I was very disappointed this time around. There is some guy that has helped me before and he treats you well and gives you good stuff! You get what you pay for! I found a hair in my shaved ice (pictures attached). This is what I mean they are not careful enough. I don’t get grossed out with hairs, but it’s not really appealing either to find it and think of all the other possible things they’re not careful with. Again.. their treats are good, they’re okay honestly, but the experience isn’t always the best, a bit pricey for my opinion and the disorganization...
