JinWei hangs somewhere in the balance between edible and nasty, but they are one of only two Chinese restaurants that currently deliver in Conway, and the other one is a lot worse. The portions are large, but quantity doesn't make up for the lack of quality... I really have to be sure that I want to spend the money on a gamble, because some days are better than others. I've never really been satisfied with the food and delivery takes forever, but so far they've never screwed up my order other than over-frying the appetizers. That's pretty much all they have going for them, in my book. The laoganma chili paste is pretty cool, too, it's worth the quarter to add it on to your order. The batter they use for dishes like General Tso's, sweet and sour, sesame chicken, etc. is really strange and tastes like baking soda, it's never been crispy and it usually just sloughs off before you can get it in your mouth. It's better to stick with simple stir-fry dishes. Their website is a little awkward and it doesn't take payments, and if you are using a card you have to call the store anyway, so it's like having to order your food twice. They also charge a delivery fee based on how far away you are and they charge another fee to pay by card. If you absolutely have to have Chinese delivery, this is the place to order from, but the food is mediocre at best in an area where mediocre food is pretty much the best you can find. If you have the money, go with Chef Shuttle and order from a Thai restaurant, instead, you'll be a lot happier with...
Read moreTwo completely different incidents but only one restaurant. In April of 2023 I had stopped by after work to pick up my usual, general tso chicken and veggie fried rice. 6-7 hours later I’m projectile vomiting in my bathroom at 3am. I don’t think much of it, maybe I just ate too fast but why am I having horrible stomach pain and diarrhea for two weeks after. Anyways, I carry on. Then two weekends ago, beginning of June 2023, I order the same. To my surprise I’m horribly sick again, but this time it’s coming out of both ends at the same time. This is a warning and for entertainment. Don’t be like me, learn the first time and immediately report it. I’ve eaten here multiple times over the last 4 years of my time in Conway and sadly I will never step foot in there again. As far as I know it was probably the rice. Rice can harvest all kinds of bacteria if it’s left out in the open...
Read moreI’ve had a few bad experiences here. One I ordered orange chicken that was raw. We called up to the restaurant for the owner to argue with us about our food being raw and he finally agreed to refund us and I told him I would be on my way up there for the refund. We arrived to the store after about 5 mins only to find out it was closed. He knew we were coming and didn’t bother to let me know that they were closing! Two, again the owner was trying to hand MY food to someone else while I was standing right in front of him telling him that it was my food for him to ignore me after several times of me telling him that it’s my food. I could go on and on and on about how much I dislike this place but to keep it short owner needs to work on his customer service skills. And not have his “son” or whoever handle his angry customers. Would rate this restaurant in the negatives if...
