Mecatos Bakery & Café — Restaurant in Conway

We are a family of 5 and we all LOVED everything we got. The taquitos, def the best we've had. We really liked then because of the soft dough they are wrapped in, paired with quite arguably the best cheese ever. The arepa was loaded with meat and cheese and we added avocado. The cuchapa was packed with corn and cheese and so flavorful. The cheese pull is crazy...you've gotta try it! We put both the green and orange sauces on everything. The sauces are just heavenly. Two of the kids got the ham and cheese croissant and the croissant itself was so soft and fluffy and the cheese, the irresistible cheese! Oh and we had desserts. We tried several and they were all amazing. We tried all three flavors of pan de bono (nutella, dulce de leche and guava). None of us could decide which was the best, they were all so yummy. We were glad we tried them all. We also tried the creamy Mango Fusion, wow! More like mango explosion. We were all talking about how amazing the food was well after we left. Worst customer service ever. Waiting online patiently as some arrogant prick walks up behind me and catches someone coming out of the kitchen and yells out his order to her. The counter ladies don’t even say sir please wait your turn as this lady was before you. They proceeded to help him as I still wait for another counter lady to become available. The one lady was making a hot chocolate for the gentleman in front of me but stopped making it to assist the prick behind me. Then proceeded to forget about the hot chocolate for the man that was before me to the point that the man had to come back and ask for his hot chocolate. I very well made sure he knew the lady in the back decided to go to the back and text on her phone. And she proceeded to defend the prick. Worst is that I’m pretty sure the prick didn’t leave a 30% tip as I did. This is unacceptable and on top of everything they took forever to complete my small order. I waited 20 minutes...

Food was good , coffee was not . Had too much milk. It appeared the young man didn’t know how to prepare. I understand they are in the soft opening stage.

But the reason for the low rating is because as soon as I entered , there was no greeting . They stood there and talked to each other . Lacking customer service . Not sure if it was just me they didn’t want to greet. But the next lady that entered was treated better. I was polite and said please and thank you but did not receive any response from the young man and woman at the counter. My husband also received the same treatment when he went to pay. I am writing this in hopes that they will improve from my feedback. I’ve lived in this area a long time and have not experienced this before around here , usually all businesses are very friendly and helpful. I will probably go back and give them another try .
