It was a Saturday night, just an hour before closing. We Four weary travelers sauntered in, ignoring the long ingrained Southern hospitality we've been taught about coming in so close to shut down time. We were tired and hungry after a 6hr drive from the Lone Star State. We hoped they would accept us and that the food was, at least, mildly edible. Accept us they did, and with all the kindness and smiles of someone who enjoyed their job. Maybe she didn't, but we would've never known. She took our order and served us well. Just enough checking in and refills without at all seeming like she wanted us to leave. Her professionalism as a waitress is unparalleled. And oh the food! We of Irish descent are rather judgemental when it comes to the cuisine of our Motherland. O'Malley's gave a humble and accurate nod to our ancestry. The food warmed my soul. It was so delicious I dream about it still. We will be coming back on our next trip to AR. It might even become tradition. The boxty was unlike like my own, as we Irish do debate texture, but delightful and delectable nonetheless. The cottage pie just like me Gran's. The bangers and mash were like nothing the English could ever create, and the pretzels and cheese so bewitched our grumpy teen that she requested we return for more on our way home. Chips were obsessively enjoyed by a toddler whose palate is often displaced on a whim. We left full, both in stomach and in heart. And we yearn to return again. So, if you happen to pass this unassuming little pub on the corner, please stop in. The food will not disappoint. They also have impressive adult beverage options that we plan to enjoy next time around. You'll be treated well and you'll...
Read moreTwo black girls in an Irish restaurant Arkansas stand out! And we did, but we were greeted before we were fully in the door, offered seating of our choice, and when a table became available outside we were notified and offered the outside seating. I don't remember the young man's name that greeted us or took care of us with our table and seating, but he was a service Rockstar. Our server was Amanda G., and she was really great too. I asked questions about a couple of items of the menu and if meat could be removed or eaten around, and she was knowledgeable and honest. I settled on fish and chips, there weren't really any other options, but when it came out it was piping hot and fresh. The fish , the cod, was battered and fried so of course it was very greasy, which I mitigated a little bit with napkins. The fries were pretty okay, but I honestly don't remember. I would remember if they were bad. Their tap water was also very good; I'm very picky about tap water. The best part of the meal though was the bourbon bread pudding. In the menu it says something like life-changing bread pudding, and I would have to agree. It was amazing! I also know my friend enjoyed her food and the bread pudding too. If for no other reason, I will go back for that delicious...
Read moreI have been to O’Malleys several times over the past few years. I can honestly say I have not had any bad food from them. Its always been good quality food. Big bonus is they have a great bourbon selection!
Appetizers we have tried: Boxty - potato pancakes! Ya I know crazy right? But they are good. Dublin layer shrimp- man I am going to have to figure out the story on that name. If you are looking for a tasty low carb option this just might be your ticket item! Traditional wings- a must have. This is my new go to lunch item there. Guinness BbQ sauce and perfectly cooked wings!
Entrees: Ruben sandwich- always a hit, the crispy rye bread and sauerkraut hit the spot! Hot O’malley burger - gives you a little kick with the fried jalapeño and banana peppers.
Fish taco is a great lighter choice.
