We have been 10-15 times prior to the buffet addition. We returned last night to try the buffet option. It wasn’t exactly your typical buffet. 29.95 a person. You have a set of rules such as two hours only, three sushi rolls at one round and for whatever sushi you don’t finish 1 dollar per piece of sushi left. Oh and you must order at the table not serve yourself buffet so we have no idea of portion sizes they will be bringing. We ordered and went for it. It took 45 min (not busy) to receive our food (no problem) my rice and chicken came out prior to my soup I ordered, and I never received my salad at all. Our sushi finally arrived we finished it all except 7 pieces. My husband had ramen by this time we were full he didn’t completely finish it and I didn’t finish my egg rolls that were apps that didn’t come out until long after our food. To pay we fully expected to pay an extra 7 dollars for the sushi however were charged 15 as we didn’t finish the eggs rolls or complete bowl of ramen? Nowhere did it say we would pay for that food. We didn’t cause an issue and said since we were paying 15 dollars for the food we didn’t finish can we take since we are paying for it separate from the buffet price and we were denied. This I didn’t agree with cause clearly we ate off it and we are paying an additional 15 dollars over the buffet price because we didn’t finish it why can we not take it? Idk that didn’t sit right with me that we paid legally making it ours outside of the buffet we also paid for but can’t take it just for you to throw it away. I don’t think that I will be coming again due to just the food waste. We had no idea of portion size to determine what to order and what not to order either that may have helped in ordering accordingly to our ability to finish it.
(UPDATE) as you can see they didn’t even take the time to read the review and just regurgitated an auto generated reply. If food waste was your concern once the sushi was paid for that wasn’t eaten you would allow the customer to take it because they separately paid for it. This was not the concern of my visit though I knew I would need to pay for the sushi I didn’t eat. I HOWEVER WAS NEVER INFORMED AND IT IS NOWHERE ON THE MENU, RULES OR IN THE RESTAURANT THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED FOR SOUP I DIDN'T FINISH OR APPS. Please take the time in the future to read your customer reviews before replying and look into food waste because charging people to pay for uneaten food then throwing it away isn’t solving food waste it is only lining...
Read moreWe saw that Osaka now has an all-you-can eat option and knew we had to try it out! We’d already been several times for their delicious food and wanted to see what this new option was like!
First the basics; the dinner all-you-can-eat for one adult is $30. There are some premium options that will add a $5 charge each (sashimi, steak hibachi, and salmon hibachi) Everyone at the table must either get the AYCE option OR order ala cart off the menu, you cannot mix ordering types at the table. You are given two hours to place as many orders off the AYCE menu as you’d like, but you are charged for any excessive uneaten food, or any uneaten sushi at all. This is a standard practice at all you can eat restaurants but may catch a newcomer by surprise!
The Food: We got the crab rangoons and shumai as appetizers, as well as a selection of nigiri, the salmon and cream cheese and crab and cream cheese rolls, the chicken katsu, and the chicken yaki soba. Everything was delicious! I loved the roll selections, I thought they were very generous for an AYCE place! I will warn that the entrees are large sized. Anywhere between half to 3/4 what you would expect from an ala cart entree, which can be important when planning your orders! The yakisoba had a bit of a spicy kick to it, which I was not expecting. I am extremely sensitive to spice, so I was unable to eat it. The full uneaten portion only added $5 of leftover food cost to our bill! (Again, these were large portions)
The Service: There was only one other table than ourselves while we were dining there. The service was slow to start, after we got our drinks we had to wait maybe 10 minutes to put in our order, and when you’re on a timer that is important. Once we got settled and the food started coming we were checked on frequently and the staff was very friendly!
Overall this was a lovely experience and we will certainly be back! I would recommend to any future customers to carefully pace any...
Read morePlain and simple. Came to this establishment with Optimism and your normal everyday hibachi enthusiasm with my two boyfriends. We were greeted and sat down, at first things seemed fine and nothing amiss. However, here comes the ZERO STARS FROM EACH CATEGORY!!!:::
FOOD: Mediocre, took 2 hours to get PART OF our order from the all you can eat. I, myself ordered miso soup, 3 rolls, and orange chicken.
The rolls came out first but took nearly 30min to get them. Waited longer. No miso….waited another hour after ordering orange chicken and it seemed it was given to another table. Still was not recieved
SERVICE: on a rating of 1-10 id rate the overall service a 0.5….she forgot about me entirely, she seemed annoyed when i ordered an item she thought wasnt on the menu. Server also forgot about my boyfriends food. And let me just say if you order tempura chicken it is actually chicken tinders. Its not anything what you think. Ik i should have put that in with the food category but oh well.
Atmosphere: The guys making the sushi DO NOT CHANGE THEIR GLOVES AFTER GOING BETWEEN PATRON AND BACK TO MAKING FOOD! CONTAMINATION IS HOW YOU GET PEOPLE SICK! Keep this in mind. Everyone actually moved like turtles. If you think im joking waste over $120 on a 3 party just to find out. If we had read previous reviews beforehand we definitely would not have given this place a chance.
We left not only dissatisfied with our service but hungry and mad as can be. Zero stars across the board.
(Disclaimer zero stars is what i would have put, however you have to put 1 star just to...
