Cookeville Pizza & Pub — Restaurant in Cookeville

I consider myself a pizza snob and the food is EXCELLENT. The beer was also cold and refreshing. We will definitely be coming back but I do have some recommendations for the owners:

The overhead fluorescent lighting is terrible. The brightness is almost school lunch room level. Warmer bulbs or some ambient lights would make it more of a true pub atmosphere. As would some more comfortable booth seating, maybe even a couch and coffee table. The food is good enough and they have enough TVs that I could see us spending a longer time here ordering multiple things while watching a game, but it’s just not a comfortable enough environment to stay and continue to order drinks as is. The decor is lacking. There is a real opportunity for a mural by a local artist on those grey cinderblock walls, as well as some local themed art and collectibles. On a very busy Friday night, they had one employee taking all orders at the counter as well as ALL takeout orders. This meant customers were standing about 20 minutes on concrete waiting to place their order, and I can only imagine how overwhelmed that single poor employee felt. She had no relief if she had needed to take a break. I really hope they increase their staff on busy nights in the future. We at one point considered ordering more food, but the line deterred us from doing so. It was a real turn off.

I look forward to visiting in the future and seeing how this business grows and improves! Like I said, the pizza is excellent. With a few tweaks, I can see this becoming a regular favorite. I rarely leave reviews this long, but I’m very invested in seeing this business succeed as we live very close to it! I hope to have many more great...

If you're looking for some good food you have got to try this place! Upon entering it's very welcoming and the staff is super friendly! My mother is vegan so she has dietary restrictions. She is VERY picky. The staff went above and beyond for her and helped navigate her to the vegan options. She ended up getting an order of waffle fries with a salad loaded with veggies. I tried a waffle fry. They were super crispy and had excellent flavor. That is always my complaint with pizza places, the lack of flavor but this place DELIVERED. I got a 10' thin crust create your own pizza I got pepperoni, jalapeno, and black olives with Alfredo sauce and a side of honey. I also ordered an order of their cheesy cheesy bread. When it came out I knew it was gonna be good because of all the seasoning. It was absolutely deliciously cheesy and seasoned to perfection. The pizza crust was crisp and thin and the pizza itself bursted with flavor. I also ordered one of their stubborn sodas in black cherry and it was so good! I'm not a soda person but it was refreshing and very tasty! I have ZERO complaints. The manager even brought over a side of hot honey for me and checked on their cauliflower crust which IS vegan! So that is a major win for my mom who has already deemed this place her favorite! We will DEFINITELY be back. They have a ton of options pizzas, salads, sandwiches, wings and desserts! Thank you for an absolutely flawless experience!

Ps tried the puffs today... absolutely PHENOMENAL! One of the best things I've ever eaten! So crispy and filled with pepperoni and cheese and just seasoned to heaven.... So good!

Also tried the vegan pizza with the vegan gluten free cauliflower...

The atmosphere in there is absolutely amazing. It’s got a good vibe to it. I saw the reviews and I thought OK. Seems like I gotta try this place so I order my pizza pepperoni extra cheese light sauce now I get it that there is some grease involved when you cook cheese and pepperonis, but the amount of grease was on my pizza a little too much for my liking and there was so much flop that I just grabbed a slice my cheese fell right off of my slice. The cashier Was sweet, but she seemed overwhelmed at times and as a result ended up having to come back in * just want to say I went back and tried it again. I absolutely loved it. My pizza was top-notch tasted very good. Pepperoni puffs are absolutely delightful. My first review was Soli based on that pizza and the amount agrees that was on it but this pizza that I got recently was perfect. The pizza puffs were perfect and as I stated before, and the environment is great thank you again and I will continue doing business here, this is a great pizza place that belongs in our community. Top two best pizza places in Cookeville. I absolutely mean that and I am glad I was proven wrong.

for the things on the side that I wanted. Overall, the atmosphere was my favorite thing about this place sports with a bar. I just wish that the pizza was a little more up to the standards of the atmosphere. Pizza was a 5.7/10 for me. Still better then any fast food pizza around here just not the best...
