Absolutely amazing! The food was fresh, delicious, and well prepared and presented. It was so delicious and tempting looking we all dug in before remembering to take any pictures to post here. Visiting from Atlanta, we came for lunch just before Thanksgiving. I hadn't had Thai food in a while so I asked for a recommendation. The manager, Alicia, who also happened to be serving us that day, recommended all the right things and then asked if we like things spicy. When I replied yes, she brought out an arrangement of spices in small canisters, explained what each of them were and then left them with us to try as much as we desired. I loved the dry spice rub and the red chili pepper sauce and asked if it was something that I might be able to purchase somewhere. Alicia, with her wonderful hospitality, immediately fixed me up with a 16oz container to take home of the sauce that they prepare right there in the restaurant and four small containers of the dry rub. Needless to say I continue to enjoy my experience at the House of Thai! The picture is of the red chili pepper sauce. Delicious with lots of things!

First off, we moved here from Southern California. Having lived in the diverse, Asian ethnic Garden Grove for several years, we had the privilege to eat at some of the best Asian restaurants, including Viet Namese, Thai, and Korean. We have tried one Thai restaurant in Murfreesboro, but the familiar flavors of one of our favorite cuisines just wasn't there. We tried to hit a Thai place in Cookeville, but it was closed, sadly. We defaulted to House of Thai, and am I glad we did. We ordered vegetable tempura for a starter. Absolutely the **BEST** tempura we have had anywhere, beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. The Massaman curry took me back to a place we frequented for several years (the clientele in the Thai restaurant that was a favorite for years, was predominantly of Thai descent, and that's always a solid affirmation of authenticity). The curry was soooo good, and seasoned perfectly, with the right thickness of sauce, served in a large portion. The Thai Iced Coffee was outstanding and rich. We will be back!!!

Holy WOW! House of Thai is EXCELLENT! I’ve been craving curry lately and had to stop in Cookeville. I stumbled upon this gem and just like that - turned out to be the best curry I’ve ever had. I went to the checkout to place a carry out. The 2 staff members that helped me were better than great in providing excellent customer service the guys name was Bryan (I did not catch the females name).. I was indecisive about getting the red curry or the panang curry - I went with the panang from recommendation. My total was $14. From the service to the atmosphere to the food it was all phenomenal!

Horribly rude staff, especially one server in particular. I called to place a togo order, and just like previously, the phones were not working properly so I playfully and politely let them know. I had asked a different serve about it the previous week and she let me know it had been an ongoing problem that they'd been trying to fix. She was very kind and polite about it, but this other server who answered the phone this time was very VERY rude. When she answered the phone I said "hi! I'd like to place a togo order, and you're phones still aren't working properly." (Little chuckle) She began by telling me I was wrong and they were working just fine. After I told her about the experience I just had the previous week, where i tried calling for 30 minutes as i drove to the restaurant but could not get through, and how when I was standing in the restaurant waiting to place that order (because the phones weren't working), I tried doing a test call and the phone wouldn't ring, she continued to get more agitated and aggressive. I also told her what the previous server had told me about the problem yet she continued to get angry. Then she said, "did you call to place an order or did you just want to tell me my phone wasn't working?" I said "wow" and reluctantly placed the order. Then when i went to pick it up, I told her I was sorry I offended her by mentioning the problem, but I knew how important it was for the phones to work properly when you own a small business, and she said with a sassy attitude "well, I'm sorry I didn't give you the answers that you wanted." She continued to smack out rude comments so I decided that I would get the managers info and contact them about her rudeness and the phones. Then I heard her go into the backroom and flat out lie to her co-workers about what happened. She told everyone I was yelling at her, which never once happened. I absolutely could NOT believe it!!! Afterwards I told my boss what had happened and he stated that he had also an encounter with a very rude server. I told him what my server looked like and he said it was the same one who helped him. She was very defensive and argumentative with him as well. It did not make him want to return either. So, food = 5 stars, server = 0. Such a shame that one miserably bad apple could ruin a...

My husband and I stopped in for dinner with our 4 children, 2 of which are 2 year old twins. We each ordered an entree and the twins shared one for a total of 5 entrees. The food was great and you get a great deal of food for the price. Service was a let down though. We read some great reviews and being new to the Cookeville area and lovers of Thai food is why we went. The waiter was very brief and not very friendly. My 10 and 11 year old kids were the only two people at the table who got a drink refill.

Sweet tea lovers DON'T ORDER THE TEA! It was lemonade disguised as tea. It looked like tea but that was it. I'm not talking about Nestea that has a hint of lemon. This was full on lemonade that had the coloring of tea.

I have been to several restaurants that have an auto-gratuity for parties of 6 or more and have never been charged when we have our children. I have been told that this is reserved for parties containing 6 or more adults as they eat and drink more than children. This place doesn't care if it's 6 adults or 2 adults and 4 children. My husband and I always tip when we go out to eat as it is a treat for our children, but there is no way that I would have given this waiter 18% for bare minimum service. We saw him to order drinks and food, when he brought the food out, 2 kids got refills, and to deliver the check. We have gotten better service at the Waffle House on a crowded Sunday morning.

I am not sure if the auto-gratuity is added to to-go orders but for families that are larger than 5 people including children I would suggest ordering their food to-go instead. You will at least be able to eat in the comfort of...

I have been here 4 times. The food is okay. Ive ordered the Drunken noodles and Pad See Ew and a stir fry before, I order it with tofu. It was mostly noodles once and the stir fry was a bit disappointing. Although the tofu is really good it's few pieces of tofu. The tofu satay appetizer is so good though. Overall it's like americanized thai food, and for the price you would expect more. Maybe it also depends on what dish, I haven't tried all of them , so maybe some of them are really worth it and delicious. As far as service, it was good the first times, but last time I came in it was not busy, there was maybe 2-3 tables. One leaving. They greeted me when I came in, told me to sit where I wanted. I went to the restroom first. I then sat down , I didn't know who my server was but it was the guy who was walking around the section I sat in, that being said, it took 10minutes before I was given a menu. He only sat it down and then walked away. Waited 6 more minutes before he came back and took my order and I asked for a glass of wine which took another 10 minutes for me to get. I wouldn't normally complain , and I work at a restaurant myself, but the wait time was a bit excessive and then after he brought my food he only came back to give me my check. No check up or offer to refill. So I'd give service 3. 5stars overall and...
