Beyond disappointing. As a former resident of MN, I used to frequent Culver’s all the time. So, needless to say, I was very excited when I saw that one would be opening up near me in Cooper City. Unfortunately, the only thing redeemable about this location is the ice cream.
First off, the drive thru line is very awkward, so unless you’re 1 of the first 3 people in line at the drive through you can expect to wait in the right lane of parking lot. It’s very uncomfortable as other customers are trying to back out of their parking spots or other drivers try to pass you in the left lane since you’re forced to block the entire right lane. That will be a real treat once all the other businesses in the shopping center open up!
As far as the food, everything was just ok. I realize I ordered take out and it’s unfair to be overly critical of, but the burgers were dry and tasteless, plus the fries were just plain lousy as they were both under cooked and under seasoned.
While all of these opinions are totally frivolous and something I would normally never share on such a platform, I am so annoyed and disappointed at the way their management staff decided to handle their mistakes on my order that I think other people should be made aware of what’s going on at this poorly run establishment. The person that took my order did it perfectly, and everything on my ticket was spot on, which I expected since they were so on point. However, much to my surprise, when I got home, my order was missing the Atlantic cod fish sandwich and neither burger had lettuce or tomato as indicated on the ticket. After calling to let them know about what happened, a very apologetic and sincere girl said, “Give me your name and I’ll put this mistake down on the manager log and next time you come by we’ll give you an Atlantic cod sandwich and for the inconvenience I’ll make sure to give you a value basket as our way to say sorry.” Amazing, I thought, as mistakes happen and it’s really no biggie.
Fast forward to the today, literally the very next day, and my wife goes back down to Culver’s to grab the Atlantic cod fish sandwich value basket and they’re like NOPE!
Apparently, the person I spoke to on the phone, and understandably so, forgot to write it down on the manager log during a busy Labor Day service and since my wife didn’t bring the original receipt from yesterday they initially refused her request for the replacement Atlantic cod fish sandwich all while making her feel like some scammer that was looking for a handout. After calling to tell me what happened, I went outside and dug through the trash barrel to grab the receipt so I could send her a picture of it. Upon review of the picture the manager finally backed down and offered an Atlantic Cod fish sandwich but not the value basket. We both agreed neither of us wanted the fish sandwich anymore and she left. Instead of taking the loss on the $.50 it would have cost Culver’s for a medium French fry and fountain soda...
Read moreSorry Cooper City… no stars deserved from me. I was super excited for something new in our neighborhood. It’s been a while that I can say a place was so bad because of under staffing issues. They are DEFINITELY NOT understaffed. In fact you would think there was training happening and that was not the case either.
We walked in and it was awkward. Plenty of staff to greet the customers and only one employee spoke out and welcomed us.
We approached the counter to order. Being that this was our first time like probably most of us the cashier didn’t recommend or guide us. I said what do you recommend? No response. I said are you known for the burgers? She said not really. We are known for our custard. Not knowing what to order and our first impression I was now turned off from ordering. We stuck to two small milkshakes. While my partner paid I listened to others TRYING to order around us. Again no help and customers were left with an empty feeling. We actually tried to help the guests in line next to us. They were asking what came with the meals or were the sides à la cart. The cashier had no clue what the customer was talking about.
At this point other people waiting in line are now walking out.
We were given a number and I said what do we do she said just have a seat and someone will bring the food. We waited a few minutes or so the milkshakes were brought over. Nothing special just a strawberry shake and a mint Oreo shake. The mint Oreo was warmish and super thick with green food coloring or green mint syrup inside the cup.
While sipping hard to get through my shake I observed employees on their cell phones. There was two or three employees cleaning tables. For the rest of the staff they should turn around and study the menu and a manger should be hands on training.
Sorry guys but Chick-fil-A WINS again in our neighborhood. Good luck and hope you can turn around the service and train your staff on your brand, menu and just the common standard...
Read moreVery poor environment as soon as I walked in literally five employees are standing in place with their backs to the registers just talking amongst themselves. I asked for a menu and one very helpful employee with glasses gave it to me. I returned to place an order and the other employees were still talking and facing the back wall. As I was standing at the register, one employee was calling over other guests and ignoring me at the register. I had to move directly in front of her to be acknowledged. When I received my order, I noticed that one of the drinks was not filled properly. I expressed the issue to the employee at the register and she gave a look that was both condescending and showed that she did not care about my concerns. She called over another employee who I believed was the manager on staff. She also showed no concern for the issue I noticed. I explained to her that my drink was not filled and she said that is how it comes when they make an iced drink. I literally showed her the menu which showed EVERY drink was filled and she said that advertisements look better than the food and drinks they serve customers. So I said you mean to say that it is false advertisement and she was quiet after my observation. They didn’t fix my drink, which was highly disappointing for a first time experience at their restaurant. The burger was good (4/5 stars) fries were a bit stale (2/5 stars)and the milkshake was not bad but nothing out of the ordinary (3/5 stars). I would consider ordering for this chain but it would have to be a different location since the customer service was terrible. If you can tolerate the poor customer service, you can go here. If you require good customer service while dining, I would suggest the Sunrise location which I have heard very good...
