I highly DO NOT recommend this place at all. First of all, upon arrival the sign said “Wait to be seated.” There was a bartender girl and no server around. While waiting I noticed another sign. It is currently 6/11/21 and Covid has been around for a year now and the vaccine for a couple of months now. If you are vaccinated and do not wear a mask, at least you’re pretty much protected and if not, masks are always great. However, this place does not enforce masks for any reason, whether vaccinated or not. Secondly, we waited a good 5 minutes before I walked over to the bartender to ask if there was a server coming to seat us. She said to sit anywhere. I went to the bathroom while waiting and I will say the bathroom is clean.
Our server took a while before coming to greet us. It was obvious she did not want to be at work. She wore a cast boot for something was wrong with her foot. My sympathies; I have no problem waiting on someone who is hurt. However, when that someone does not come to check on me barely at all, there is a problem. The food took a very long time to come, and I mean a long time to come. This was the first place I have ever seen that said they had Original Fried Pork Rinds with their own seasonings; please note they were out of it and this was Friday at 1:30 p.m. I ordered chicken with rice. The rice was yellow and the texture was good. The grilled chicken was not delicious; frankly, I think they just put a dash of salt and maybe black pepper on it. It was dry. There was no coleslaw to go with it, no vegetables, no side dish of any kind, and this includes at least a sauce for the chicken. My best friend had the chicken gyro. She said it was just as tasteless as mine. She had fries with hers; the fries were not even eye-catching. The waitress did not check up on us and I had had enough once I got the wrong drink order. I must say because we were waiting so long, my best friend called over the bartender to get our drink order. She misheard me when I was speaking to my best friend and when I did get my drink, and by the way she was way quicker than our waitress, I almost spat out the drink because I was expecting coke and got something else. My best friend’s drink was also wrong so I was coughing and had to get her water. You should note we were never offered water to begin with; my friend had asked for water with her tea beverage and I did not get water because I actually expected water to be at the table like any other normal restaurant.
When my friend showed disdain for the drinks and asked to get what we wanted, the waitress sarcastically teared-up in her voice and said, “We’re sorry, we make mistakes. If you calm down, we will fix it.” At that point I was done. After she came back, she disappeared again and I called aloud when I saw her finally across the room for the check. I have never not left a tip; I’ve even given one dollar when the service is terrible. I was so irritated I played on my phone because if not, I would have been very rude. I suggest you find another American type bar restaurant to go to as there are many that will treat you better, and even give you water...
Read moreGeronimo's Grill stands out as a go-to chill spot for unwinding with a drink in hand, particularly after a long day. Its laid-back ambiance and welcoming vibe make it a popular destination, not just for the casual patron but also for employees from nearby establishments looking to decompress after hours. This melting pot of clientele adds a unique, vibrant energy to the place, making each visit interesting.
The bar's drink selection is commendable, offering a variety of choices to satisfy your cravings, whether you're in the mood for something classic or looking to try a new concoction. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for in a drinking spot: relaxed, friendly, and with just the right amount of buzz to keep the evening lively.
When it comes to the food, Geronimo's Grill serves up typical bar fare that hits the spot in the context of what it's meant to be—comforting, straightforward, and satisfying. While the menu might not win any gourmet awards, it delivers on expectations with good, reliable dishes that perfectly complement the laid-back drinking experience.
A slight drawback, and perhaps the only reason this review holds back a star on food, is the food's consistency and innovation. While good for what it is, a little more attention to elevating the bar food standards could transform Geronimo's Grill from a solid choice to an exceptional one.
Despite this, the overall experience at Geronimo's Grill is highly positive. Its charm lies in its simplicity—a place where you can genuinely relax and enjoy good company. With a vibe that attracts a diverse crowd, especially the after-work crowd from nearby locales, it's a testament to its reputation as a favored gathering spot.
In sum, Geronimo's Grill earns a well-deserved four stars for its chill atmosphere, friendly service, and being a reliable spot for a casual night out. It's definitely worth a visit for anyone looking to enjoy a laid-back evening with friends over drinks and...
Read moreThe owner is a MILLIONAIRE and doesn't need the business. Go ANYWHERE else. Called ahead to find out about the 50% seating availability. An unbelievable amount of loud music from the restaurant and the person answering kept saying she can't hear me and hung up after several attempts to say hello. Called again, different person answered. After asking if they're at capacity of their 50% and if there's a wait, no clear answer. We arrived 20 minutes later. We took a chance, went, were told to have a seat by the bartender. Seating capacity looks like 150+. With three tables seated, 10 at one end of the bar my wife and I, let's say less than 20 people were there. With 40+% capacity of the 50% available, hard to believe a clearer assessment couldn't be made when calling earlier. The wait staff person made an unintelligible comment. Asking what did you say, she kept saying the say thing. I asked what does that mean, she couldn't answer as if she was not in condition to be working. I am not a doctor or a substance abuse counselor, but she didn't belong in a restaurant working, maybe drinking at a bar, definitely not working. We asked for our drinks, then menus Without explanation, she pointed to the napkin holder. Finally, we understood we had to scan the QR code on the napkin box. It was clear. The bartender answered our call the second time, our waitress answered the phone the first time. I guess Louie no longer owns Geranimo's. From before it's moving from the University Plaza it had a professional bar & wait staff. Even when business was packed they were on their game. Now, maybe 20 people in the restaurant and no welcoming feel or professional training. Sad. In the condition of restaurants in this economy, my wife and I had been to 4 restaurants this week trying to bring back business to restaurants. This one doesn't need...
