Well for starters I was not greeted upon entering the store. It did not take me long to locate the products that I needed as I had just recently just visited the store 3 days ago. Iāve been shopping at Home Depot for nearly 20 years now, so this purchase was similar to many that Iāve had in the past. It took a total of approximately 5-7 mins from the time I entered the store until it was time to check out. I attempted to checkout with the cashier, being that all the SELF checkout kiosk were occupied at the time. While waiting in the line for the cashier, I was summoned by another employee who was accompanied by a coworker standing near the A/C units just adjacent to the SELF checkout area. She told me that a kiosk had become available and so I went to use the SELF checkout kiosk which Iām familiar with using. She grabbed the scanner before I could get to the kiosk so that she could scan the 5 items that were on top of the heavy duty cart, which seemed to be odd. But once she had scanned all of the items, I went to pay when she begin to check each bin one by one, SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE! She was struggling to check each one so I assisted her, and while doing so I asked, āYou think Iām trying to steal or something?ā She replied, āNo, Iām just doing my job.ā After checking my bins she left to return and socialize with her coworker near the A/C units. Now Iāve worked in retail before and I know all about SHRINK, so Iām no dummy, why was she checking the bins after they had already been scanned? She more than likely thought I was stealing and maybe that sheād discover something along the way smh. Anyway, I didnāt ask for help, but does this sound like SELF-checkout? I mean I thought maybe sheād be honest and maybe try to enlighten me on why she did what she did, but instead I spent over $50 and she didnāt even depart with have a nice day or anything. Maybe itās because my skin is darker than most patrons that frequent this Home Depot being that this a predominantly white neighborhood. Or maybe it couldāve been my tank top and sweat pants which revealed a few intimidating tattoos that I have. Regardless, I felt like I had been profiled. Especially, knowing that the customers that used the same Kiosk before me checked out with no assistance. However, if it is a store policy than maybe every customer should be treated the same. My integrity was questioned as an honest and loyal customer and Iām not sure that Iāll be returning to shop here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited this Home Depot on the recommendation of a co-worker, after we'd discussed a need I had for a quality power-strip. Specifically, I was looking for one with a fair number of outlets but also had USB charging points. Assured this Home Depot had what I needed, I stopped while enroute to an event at which I planned to use it.
This is a very busy Home Depot, normally, but even at a prime time that Saturday there was no problem at all finding parking or getting through the store to the section I needed. And indeed, I was very pleased to see that section was well-stocked with a variety of quality choices all at a reasonable price-point. Additionally, they had multi-outlet, USB-equipped wall units, as well, so - also needing one of those - I picked up a suitable example. This stocking level definitely appeared to be the case generally, and I do not doubt that Home Depot prioritizes it owing to its high-traffic location.
Service at the store, though not much needed, was available and pleasant, and the store wisely had a 'traffic cop' at the cash wrap to direct customers to a register or a self-checkout as needed. This process also went very smoothly; and all told, I was in and out of the store in 5 - 10 minutes max.
In all, the visit was not unrewarding, and reasonably efficient and pleasant. I expect to return when the need arises and I am...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCustomer service in todayās world is disheartening. I understand Home Depot is a chain and no matter the service you get people need the products to complete their home projects, but there are also competitors that we can choose to spend our money with. I just visited my local store on July 5, 2022 and the customer service associate looked at me like I was a complete bothersome when returning an item. I then needed another finish of the same item that was locked in a cage at the front of the store so she sent me to the checkout area for them to help. I asked someone who then ponded me off to another associate. The second associate ponded me off on another and the 3rd one just simply said I am busy and you need to go somewhere else. I went back to the first person I asked and once again she treated me like I was a bothersome- BUT then got her key out and then helped me with no smile or appreciation that I spending $300 for a lock for my front door at Home Depot. Why couldnāt she just helped me from the start when she had the key???I am so disappointed and appalled at the NO SERVICE that I just received. I wish there was a no...
