Went here first time on a Saturday night. Noted the fine print on the counter about a service charge but it does not disclose how much. When the bill came 4% was added for non-cash option. Also they calculate the tip on the total non-cash option. So if you think you are giving a 20% tip on food amount it really is a 30% tip. I just double the sales tax on food amount and put in custom amount so be aware—other restaurants do the same thing. We were seated by courtesy host quickly. Waiter, who was new, came quickly to take drink orders. As for the food, I found it average. The spinach ravioli was just three pastas for $15 a bit stingy would have liked to see 5 for that price.. The salmon had the risotto and vegetables were mixed—they should be plated side by side. Salmon was cooked as expected, decent portion for the price. risotto was a bit mushy. Calamari was decent full plate for the $15 price. The $6 toasted ciabatta was four small thin slices with a seasoned olive oil dip. Not worth it. Taste was ok but they need to add more or enhance with tomatoes and cheese for that price. Service was attentive to keep water glasses full. We did not get other beverages. Lasagna was good, average portion size, pasta al dente, but nothing extraordinary. Creme Brulee was good single person size, not too much but a nice cap to the meal. Server made some mistakes he needs to work on, for example when serving the main entrees he should ask if we wanted added parmesan cheese not five minutes later, also seemed in a hurry to remove my plate while I was still eating off of it—wait until I tell you to take plate before sticking your hand in my face to take plate. Atmosphere was not too noisy. The place was the old smashburger and they updated lights, paint, and a few layout changes. Felt like same booths and chairs as before. Chairs not comfortable and booths need more support—sank down so just below bottom of my neck at table—5’10”—advantage— had less space to get stuff on my shirt, lol. Light fixtures look Mediterranean versus Italian. For an Italian restaurant at night felt it may be too bright inside. Need better mood lighting. Also, when you drive up the blinds were down in the windows so looks like they...
Read moreFirst off when we walked in the atmosphere was awful. It was 5 pm and there was no one in the restaurant. That was the first red flag. We have a 1 year old and she was very happy and talking and the owner / manager kept coming to her and telling her to be quiet. At first we didn’t say anything but after the 7th time he said it my husband got flustered. The food was not good I have had way better Italian food. The Alfredo didn’t taste good at all. It tasted like it came out of a jar. The noodles were too thin and just overall horrible. Luigi’s in Ft. worth is 10 times better! The Cesar salad had too much Parmesan and the dressing was too strong. The bread was burnt. This restaurant had an overall nasty vibe.
(Response to the owners reply) Your father did tell her to be quiet at least 5 times before she spilled the water. He walked by our table quite a few times (and would say “haha you need to be quiet” “can you be quiet little one”) Of course you did not hear him tell her to be quiet because you were not around when he would walk by. Whether or not it was a joke, after several times we got aggravated. Defamation is stating false information. I stated no false information. I have no reason to lie or make up anything. The food was horrible and the manager told my child to be quiet. I have never been to a restaurant where they tell a baby to be quiet , wether a joke like I said earlier or not, saying it over and over again can make your guests feel uncomfortable and embarrassed, there were many other things he could have said to her. I never lie on my reviews, I give very honest reviews of my experiences and I never try and tear down a business. This was my experience. God bless and I hope everyone has learned from...
Read moreThis place was phenomenal!
Every single one of us literally licked our plates clean. We had Appetizers, main entrees AND dessert. Nothing was leftover. That's how you know it's a fantastic meal.
Rich was our server. Very attentive, easy to communicate with and friendly.
For apps, we had Ciabatta bread, calamari and shrimp scampi. Their house "bread sticks" was so good.
Entrees: chicken Murphy is one of their most popular dishes - it was so different, but so good. It was definitely a big plate! Very generous on the artichokes!
Chicken cacciatore - meat was so tender.
Italian sausage and pepper spaghetti - the marina sauce was so fresh. And there was plenty of traditional sausage slices in it!
Lasagna was cooked perfectly.
Fettuccine Alfredo sauce was perfectly balanced, even by itself without any protein.
Their desserts were out of this world.
Tiramisu was fresh - the cream was so fluffy. Probably one of the best tiramisu I've ever had.
Lemon cake was FIRE. It was perfect , not too tarty not too sweet. I'd come back for this alone on my sugar cravings night!
Italian cake was soooooo amazing. So moist with pecans in it.
And the creme brulee was fresh and fluffy - very dense not watery.
They really do a great job with their ingredients, not skimping on anything.
I cannot wait to go back!...
