San Miguel Arcangel Mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Copperas Cove

We went in for taco Tuesday lunch. I ordered the Al pastor tacos (x3) with lemon water and my friend ordered the two taco (texmex style) plate that comes with rice and your choice of beans. The owner took our order and she recommended the mini taco plate to me, but I just wanted tacos. Everything is made fresh. The guacamole is made to order and I love the avocado chunks. I noticed they had agua Fresca and inquired about the Jamaica. They make it fresh in the restaurant. It’s not made from a powder. They brew the hibiscus flowers and sweeten it to taste. This drink is so refreshing anytime of day. You could also taste the pineapple flavor in the Al pastor tacos. It was delicious. I forgot to take photos cause it’s been too long since I had authentic tacos. I will be coming back again and again. Btw, tacos were only $2.25 each and the rest of the meal was very reasonably priced. As for the service, we had three ppl who wanted to seat us when we arrived. The gentleman at the front swiftly cleaned a table for us, and although he cleaned it quickly, he made sure to clean the whole table and the chairs. Love the attention to detail. This was the worst dining experience I've had in a very long time.

They opened at 5pm and we were the second family to seat ourselves. They informed us that several items were not ready including beans, rice, etc. They said they would have everything ready in 15 minutes. Our order wasn't taken until 30 min later and some items were still not ready. Fast forward to 615pm. They brought my plate out because "they had made an extra on accident". My wife ordered a half plate of chicken nachos and my son a soft taco.... thats it. We never saw their food come out and they had lost our ticket. I paid for my dish ( which I only had taken a couple bites out of to give my son and taste myself). The food was dry and bland.

The waitresses kept asking other customers what they had ordered... after taking their ordered. Several people received incorrect orders. It was like a Gordon Ramsey Kitchen nightmares episode. 2/10, do...

Prompt service, chips and salsa are excellent. The Salsa tastes fresh and is a tolerable heat. They have spicier options available too.

It is a small establishment and I can definitely see this place full at dinner time, however the decor and atmosphere is festive and colorful.

Our party ordered barbacola tacos, Supreme Nachos, and Chicky Nuggets (for the kid, so kid options are also available for picky eaters)

My Nachos were amazing. Meat seasoned beautifully. The chips were airy and light and thee guacamole was so yummy!!!!

The barbacola tacos were very good. Tender delicious cow cheek😁 The chicken nuggets and fries were gobbled up quickly. So I'm guessing they were good. ( I was too focused on my nachos)
