Mima's Cuban Cafe — Restaurant in Coral Springs

I don’t know where to start i live 5 minutes away from Mima’s restaurant cafe .. my family for some week have been telling me to go and now i know why .. hands down it’s it’s by far the best upcoming restaurant businessin BROWARD County in Coral Springs Fl it Has blown away my expectations I drive sometimes 40 minutes to Miami just to get some great Cuban food now I don’t have to I will definitely be going to this restaurant a few times a week just to get their food ....their steak sandwich was so delicious perfectly cooked best choice and meat selections that they put in it that I have ever had and perfectly seasoned.. their coffee was outstanding and so was there cheese and ham croquetas they Where’t salt or Greasy like I’ve had then in the pass in other restaurants Also the original Cuban sandwich was an original Cuban sandwich i grow up eating that no one makes them like they do anymore The original way ... the only thing I have to say is this is a real Cuban restaurant that brings back the old taste that I remember eating when I was a child if you have not gone here you have to.... I’m a very picky eater and I cannot say anything wrong about this place ..also the customer service there was phenomenal and the owners great people and very friendly .. family owned business makes you feel like you’re part of the family..i honestly wish they were open all day every day which I’m pretty sure if they keep going like they’re going they will be and they will expand ... I’m not a food blogger I don’t do this at all if you see my past post I am a very picky person like I’ve said before if you have not tried this place you need to you are missing out on some great food and great people can’t wait till Friday to have Cuban Oxtail That is also only served on Fridays ... It was our first time there this morning. I’ll start with the positive. Loved the look they had. The decoration and music was great. The food was also very good and the serving amount matched the pricing. The service though.. it was awful! One of the worst my family has ever experienced. The food took a while to come out. The place was not very busy either. We were the first ones there. The waitress basically rolled her eyes at any request we made. Just horrible attitude. No please or thank you. The grilled cheese came out cold. The cheese was not melted. When we asked if it could be put in microwave or just heat it up in any way she just took it and didn’t come back for a considerable amount of time. No apology. And it came back the exact same way. We asked to add sausage to our veggie omelette. Came without any sausage. When I told her about it, just to let her know, no apology of any kind or any type of response whatsoever. Just stared at me and said ok. When she brought the bill out she basically threw it on the table and left. I mean.. come on. What kind of service is that? I understand people sometimes have a bad day. But if you’re in the service industry you cannot afford to have a bad attitude. Your pay depends on it. We left very disappointed. My family was very excited to have a Cuban cafe next to home, but I’m doubtful about returning just because of...

I recently discovered Mimas1868 on Sample Road, and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of character thanks to Rene! Which is the husband and part owner of the cook which is his wife! A lovely family owned restaurant with TRUE authentic Cuban food and flavors. Also, homemade pastelitos made THAT same day by the cook herself. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. I loved their enthusiasm for their place. The food? Absolutely fantastic and this is as close to Cuban CUBAN as you're going to get ! Next step up is just going to a Cuban household or go to Cuba. You can tell they put thought and care into every dish. I tried the very safe palomilla and it was cooked to perfection as well as was packed with flavor. My husband got the ropa vieja which translates to "old clothes" and it is a MUST!!! Whether you're in the mood for a casual bite or a sit-down meal with friends or family, Mimas1868 delivers.
