El Dorado Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Coralville

Usually my favorite place for Mexican! I always get the steak tacos with lettuce and cheese but I am never charged extra for the lettuce and cheese but today I was. I understand with what’s going on things go up and change but I’d like to know that cost extra. In addition to that our chips and drinks went unfilled the entire time until id say 15 minutes went by with no new drink, no new chips, no check up that my partner then went to the rest room to find our server just sitting on her phone:( after he came back she then came back to check on us with new chips thankfully. After another 10 minutes making this almost 30 we finally get our food. Mind you we are the only people in the entire restaurant at this point. And she doesn’t even come and check on us until we are done eating and he takes our child out to the car she then comes up to the table. I wish I could rate this ice box a zero star! The beans are liquid soup the tostada which is a deep fried shell was a taco shell thrown on a plate with cold meat. The server JENNY was everything but respectful. Had to ask several times for drink refills and the place was empty. When I asked why the tostada shells weren't fried she said "well that's our tostada" well no it's not the menu says otherwise! It's freezing inside and after how rude she was I told her I'd like to pay for the drinks and the tiny $6 thing of nasty cheese we got and we were leaving, she slapped her hand on the counter and said "FINE ILL TAKE IT OFF" I paid $16 for 3 pops and cheese. Walked in with my friend and the place was somewhat busy. The hostess walked back and forth in front of us and finally after I stopped her she realized we had just walked in and needed a table. All she said, "I'm sorry but we're really busy" and walked away. She didn't even offer us a seat at the bar area (which was completely empty) or said how long we had to wait. We walked out and several others left also. NEVER before I had such experience at an actual "busy" restaurant where I've had to wait for at least 15 minutes. Terrible service from the start doesn't impress me. I hope they are careful and selective as who they hire as a host/hostess. First...
