So, I’ve read a bit about this place over the past year that I’ve been visiting the area and have been wanting to try it for a while due to all the positive reviews. I finally got to try it on a Friday, when they offer buy 2 – get 1 free tacos.

Firstly, I went to the wrong location… turns out there are two restaurants across the street from each other; one is a grocery store with the taco stand and the other offers ice cream and a lot more items, like fried whole fish, etc. but no tacos there. So, be sure to go the appropriate location for the food you desired.

So, when I walked across the street to the tacos stand, the guy at the outdoor grill told me to go inside to pay. When I did, I waited a long time at the register before seeking out an employee, who looked like he was stocking a shelf. He came over and rung me up and had somewhat of a bad attitude. The price was decent, only about $7 for the three tacos. Brought my ticket outside to get my tacos, the guy outside made them by heating up some corn tortillas and then added tons of meat to them, so you definitely get a very large portion here. They have a salsa bar (which is refrigerated, since it’s outdoors) to fix up your tacos the way you want.

I tried one pollo, one chicken fajita, and one carnitas. The two chicken tacos were just ok, not very flavorful and very dry. The carnitas was pretty decent. All of them needed lots of salsa to get more flavor to them and each also needed some lime squeezed on them.

Overall, I can say that I’ve finally been, but I’m definitely not going back… I crave really good tacos and after this visit, these are definitely not...

To say these tacos are AMAZING is an understatement. Thank you La Poblanita for filling the void I been missing since moving to Pittsburgh!! I am from California where there are taco trucks on every corner with real authentic Mexican food and since moving to Pittsburgh I have tried everywhere to find that cali taco and nothing hit the spot for me until today. Being here 13 years and flying back to California every year just to enjoy real authentic Mexican cali tacos only to not know about this hidden gem in coraopolis. You guys definitely hit the spot for this cali girl!! I got the asada tacos. You get to put your own toppings which is awesome! Asada was fresh and the salsas were sooo good! Love the little grocery store as well! Very friendly people I felt right at home. Tacos were fairly priced w/ a tip jar for the worker which he definitely deserved! You pay inside first then go outside handing him a ticket along with your meat choice. They accept cash or card but using a card there is a surcharge. If you need a bag or little cups for salsas/toppings ask the cashier inside. Very quick service. I ordered 3 tacos at first since it was my first time there went in my car and had a bite only to go back and order 4 more lol this place was about a hour out so I needed tomorrows lunch! Anyway, thank you for showing Pittsburgh what real authentic Mexican food...

The tacos were good and It was authentic Mexican food. If you do need sour cream on your taco bring it with you cuz they do not have any. You cannot eat inside you can only order your food inside and they have a small convenience store inside where you can buy a lot of Mexican food and drinks. They do have tables outside if you want to sit outside and eat. It was cold on our visit so we ate in the car. I ordered a chicken taco and they were very generous with the meat on the taco. The meat was tender, they seasoned it, and it was easy to chew. They have fresh ingredients on the side for you to put on your taco as well. The only thing I would have added with that which would really have made it a fast store for me is if they had Spanish rice to go with it I didn't see any Spanish rice. Definitely go get them a try it's a little ways out and I was reading their sign I noticed they have four locations. And if you are into Mexican desserts they have a Mexican dessert/ice cream shop right across the street. I did not try it yet because it was too cold but I think we will go back out and try it again I will give you a review on that coming up, so look out for...

I'm from Houston, TX where there is a taco truck on almost every street corner! I've been craving street tacos and these definitely filled my craving. They are some of the best tacos I've had since moving to Pittsburgh! The price can't be beat, $2.50 each, but the best part is I don't have to drive clear across town to get them from a competitor in the Strip District or Brookline (P.S. these are way better). I came two days in a row and today I brought three car loads of co-workers with me. They enjoyed the food as much as I did and we will definitely be back again to support this local business. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The store is well stocked with the all the necessary products that I need to make a home cooked Mexican meal. Today they even had fresh baked pan dulce (Mexican pasties) that had just arrived from Chicago. La Poblanita is bringing a bit of much needed cultural diversity to this part of town!
