Cafe Gianna — Restaurant in Coraopolis

So incredibly rude.

We were repeat customers of Cafe Gianna. Never again. My wife, my sister in law and myself stopped by this afternoon for a late breakfast (it’s Sunday). Usually someone greets you and tells you to sit wherever. Not today. They were too busy. No big deal. We sat down at an empty table in the middle of the restaurant. After the servers walked by our table several times and ignored us, we waited approximately 10 minutes before we got our own menus. We sat for another 10 minutes during which one server leaned on our table to squeeze past. She looked me in the face and when I went to say hello to her she just kept walking. At this point we’ve been there for 20 minutes. I walked up to the register and asked the server if she knew who our server was. She said they’ve been really busy this morning and someone will be right over. We waited for a few more minutes, and a table of about 10 people walked in. They were greeted, given menus, and had their drink order taken within minutes. By the same person who leaned on our table then ignored us. We still hadn’t been waited on. So I asked for a manager. He came out of the kitchen with an attitude to start. I said I didn’t know if he needed to hire more servers or what, but we’ve been waiting 20 minutes, got our own menus, and the table of 10 that just walked in got served. I tried to explain what happened to him and he actually raised his voice to me that 3 of his servers called off and they were really busy. I stopped him and told him he didn’t have to have an attitude with me. We got up and left.

I want to be clear. It’s not about how long we waited. It’s that we had to ask for someone to serve us, we still got ignored, and the manager gave me attitude about it. The owner was in the kitchen and didn’t do anything. Who treats...

Oh my goodness I’m so excited.☺️ I stopped in here today a half an hour before they were closing! I’m in the business myself and I am not happy with someone rolls in a half hour before they close lol however I just took a bowl of soup home and checked the place out! And I love everything about it already! I can’t wait to go in there in the mornings and give their breakfast a try. I may even do that tomorrow! Nevertheless, place is beautiful inside, the young lady who helped me was a gem. . . and the soup!!! Finally had a day off with my husband to go to brunch together and was excited to finally try this place! We sat at the only table left and the server acknowledged us as we sat. Aaaand, that was the last time she looked our way. We sat for at least 15 mins (which I understand because there was 1 girl serving and it was full), with no menus or drinks until a table of the servers friends came in. A table was promptly cleared and her friends were asked what drinks they wanted… I may come back to try the food because the table next to us’s food looked great, but this left a terrible taste...
