Update July 2023. No diners 8pm Friday or Saturday. The cook out back doing nothing in plain view smoking. Tells you all you need to know. They must go bust soon. Known as 'Armpit Cuisine of India'. No locals go here, it is known for overcharging, terrible food, arrogant owner. Owner can be seen around town furiously scratching at huge bundles of gambling scratchcards. His main focus is faking reviews and gambling that's why he overcharges. Thursday night I spoke to the trucker who came off the freeway as a treat for himself. He told me he was overcharged and the food was not only inauthentic but disgusting. THEY FAKE THEIR REVIEWS The pics are lifted from other websites. The food is garbage. I've been here 8 times hoping they could fix it. It got worse. Sometimes it has been so bad I threw the food away. A slight improvement today. I had buffet to go. But let's get something out of the way. The dishonesty. 75% of the reviews are faked, by them I assume. My food today was 3 stars at best but bumped down by me to 2 stars because of the EXTREME SALT LEVELS. Also, most of the chicken cubes are pretty hard, some were so hard I had trouble chewing it. And yet more dishonesty....wouldn't it be great if they could actually make the food pictured on their website. Or even make the menu items? 75% is not available ALWAYS! THEIR WEBSITE AND MENU bears no relation to what they make and sell. I don't care that they don't or simply cannot make many of their menu items, I don't care about their toilet problems, I don't care about being called 'buddy' when I go in, I don't care about the Apple Pay checkout which demands a 30% tip. I do care about the almost illegal salt levels, the dishonesty and the food which all tastes the same pretty much whatever it is. If this ever gets to the point of being worth it I will notify you. I have to put 1 star to counter their multiple fake 5 star reviews. I wish I could post a MINUS 323 rating to help undo the trickery. RIGHT NOW THIS IS 3 STARS AT BEST. AT BEST. NO! BUT IT ISN'T. THE SALT PROBLEM HAS TO DROP IT TO 2 STARS. THIS HAS TO BE ADDRESSED. This dump is 2 stars only because our town has no health dept for food outlets. I bet you any money there are issues here. The naan bread is good. Actually it's been very good in the past but today was dry and raw flour tasting. Not enough oil added by their failing chef. The potato dish was ok, the potato done well yet no real identifiable flavor. Oh I give up on this place, they're determined to be failures. Get a new chef.
I went to the restaurant with my wife around 7PM on Saturday (12/10/2022). The restaurant gave off a weird vibe, I expected to order at the register but instead was seated. Drink glasses were already on the table and the restaurant had many people already seated. We weren't sure what to order, though we were told many meat options weren't available. We each got soda, though it tasted like they were skimping on the syrup. We placed our order, 2 chicken currys and plain naan for us. The meal took an unusually long amount of time, whenever the curry came out we were told the naan would be a minute. The curry came with a small helping of rice - 1 bowl for me and my wife to share, I would've expected 1 bowl for each of us. We started eating, it was ok. Not terrible but definitely not what I expected for 14 dollars for each dish. 5-10 minutes into the meal, our naan still hasn't presented itself. I asked about it and was reassured it would be a moment. I overhead the waiter asking the kitchen about it, he returned and verified that I wanted plan naan - I did. Another 5 - 10 minutes later and I finally received it, piping hot and it wasn't bad. 1 hour later I went to pay for the meal, the gentleman handling sales took my card and handkey'd details onto what appeared to be Square. He asked where I was sitting and took my payment.
Looking over the receipt, it seems like I wasn't properly charged. No drinks were on the receipt, though the dishes were 2 dollars more than advertised, and we were charged for garlic naan instead of plain. I didn't complain, it wasn't worth it. I was already agitated by the service and wanted to leave. We paid roughly 42 dollars for the meal. I plan to give it a few months (if they survive) and try it again whenever they iron...
Read moreJust a few things I didn't like. The menu says closed on Monday, but they were open on Monday, so that may cause some issues with regards to food waste. There was some kind of green and orange candy on the bar. It didn't taste good to me. I would suggest replace it with something else, like rice pudding. There were also some cubes of chicken that look like they had been deep-fried, they weren't with any sauce, they were dry and hard, I would suggest omitting them from the bar, and maybe putting a vegetable there in order to reduce food waste. The meats that are stirred into sauces I think are better for the bar because they're going to have longer holding times due to the sauce helping to keep them moist. I think there needs to be a yogurt sauce on the bar, since that's very commonly used with Indian cuisine. I also think that more vegetables should be on the bar such as 2 potato dishes and 2 green dishes, example: vegetable biryani, jeera aloo, aloo palak, paleek paneer. The tandoori chicken didn't have a lot of flavor so it may need to be marinated before cooking. I thought the butter chicken was really good, I had it with white rice. I don't see butter chicken on the menu so maybe it's called something else but it tasted like butter chicken to me, the one in orange colored sauce. The labels on the bar are hard to read as well. The ladies room was clean and well stocked. The employees are nice and friendly. They do have some Indian grocery items for sale also. The naan bread is made to order, it was nice and fresh. So just a few things need fixing, overall it was...
