King Buffet LLC — Restaurant in Corbin

A generally nice, though overpriced buffet on the modest end of what could be considered a large buffet.

Most of the food was fresh and delicious; some offerings were oversalted and some, such as the sweet and sour chicken, were completely dry and chewy. This restaurant prefers a thicker wrapper for things like crab rangoon, making them chewy and tending to retain oil. Now, with negatives aside, I would like to point out that they did offer a wide range of delicious food, my favorite and the most noteworthy being the black pepper chicken which is the best that I know of in the area. They also offer regional favorites such as cheesy baked broccoli as well as cabbage and bacon. Overall, I give 4 stars for food considering the overall freshness, variety, and quality.

The service was completely average; the servers make no effort to give the impression that this is anything but a tedious job for them and my drink was never refilled despite neighboring tables being serviced. Additionally, guests are clustered next to one another notwithstanding there being more vacant tables than occupied. Overall, two or three stars are warranted for this. I, tending to be overly forgiving, give three.

The atmosphere was pleasant, clean, and quiet. I give five stars.

The dinner buffet cost $13.50 per person. I found this excessive, the food being the primary reason for that conclusion. Secondarily, I would just mention that not 2 years ago, in an area with a higher cost of living, dinner buffets offering considerably more were just shy of $10 per person. However, I do not factor price into my rating, as a general rule. All in all, it was a decent 4-star buffet...

Honestly food looked fine,but didn’t really have any chicken but a few kinds no good foods, so I decided to leave. My husband told her very nicely that we was going to go somewhere else. A older woman started screaming at us telling us to go pay, I nicely went up to the girl who was up front and asked her what am I paying for she said half of your meal (not to mention I did not even get any food on my plate I did not even sit down I did not take a drink out of my drink I did not open up my straw) I said I’m not paying for something I did not eat I told her to look at her cameras that clearly you know this is not right and I’m not paying for it. She told me can you just pay for your drink I said sure so I paid for drinks that did not drink or anything which is you know what fine. She poured the drink so I could kindly understand paying for that. My issue was being screamed at treated like absolutely trash just because they was nothing there for me to eat. A lot of seafood three things of chicken. It was very dark could not really see. I could understand if I was completely rude but I was very nice even complemented the place even when it didn’t deserve a compliment. Long story short if you come here look at the buffet before you even tell them you’re going to eat unless you want to get cussed out in two languages literally. A lot of rude people that work here. I don't really know where I should start with this place. If I could rate them a 0 star that is what they would get. Me and my family of 8 not from here not knowing anything about this place. Went to eat here today. I would not recommend anyone to eat there. The staff is very unprofessional. They seem to have issues with constant staring at the customers as if they are saying eat your 1 plate and get out. Very uncomfortable feeling. The 2 ladies working there was constantly staring. Came to our table and started picking up plates that was still being ate out of. Put the plate back down with trash In it and walked away. My daughter went got her and someone else 2 donuts the lady walked over tapped the table and said you eat here no take with you. Like really we are trying to eat here, but you are rushing us out putting trash in plates. Then the last draw was putting trash in my plate that I was eating out of. That was a done deal. At that point the food was pushed to the side we got up and yes the food was paid for. No tip was left. I made sure to let both ladies know that need to learn manners and that this is the worst customer service experience ever. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Btw the food is not great.
