We've been enjoying Low Tide for a few years now and the food has always been very good. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The fresh rockfish special tonight was great, not a few chunks that you might get at the normal beach restaurants. The burgers are a blend of meats not just prepattied burgers from the food supply companies. I remember when they first opened during the Covid pandemic and so many restaurants were short staffed and some had irregular hours and even closed early if they felt they couldn't accommodate the customers with good food and service. I read one review that said they were turned away in 2019 because of the short staff. Now I would accept that at face value and say thank you and simply go somewhere else instead of trying to get in only to have to wait too long for food or service but then write a bad review and you didn't even eat there is rather childish. ALL beach towns up and down the east coast in 2019-2021 were short staffed. Funny how people leave their own home towns with "now hiring" signs everywhere and expect there vacation spot to be fully staffed and a 5...
Read moreUnfortunately my trip here was just not good. Had the burger, it was supposed to be medium rare, but was over cooked burned to a crisp, the kids didn't like their chicken tenders (tried them and didn't blame them) the serving size of fries was small and very subpar (though they tasted good), the service was very slow. The coke zero was flat, but the waitress argued and said the "staff gets that all the time but they all think it tastes normal." (Did give me a different drink though after disagreeing with them) Only thing that was good was the fries and the fried clams. It took us about 45 minutes to get a table for a party of 4, which is most likely due to short staffed, as there were many open tables. Table service was slow which can't blame the servers due to staffing. On top of all of this, prices are high, over $21 for a bad burger, just not very pleased here. I don't normally leave bad reviews but this one just wasn't a good visit all around, food, soda,...
Read moreWe were a party of 7 with 4 adults and 3 kids. When we arrived around lunch the lunch menu looked pretty sparse but which kinda scared us. But we all found something. 2 of the kids just had Mac & Cheese which is just Kraft Mac & Cheese which is perfect when you have picky kids.
Of the other 5 we had the wings appetizer, a pulled pork and shrimp po'boy, a lobster roll sandwich and several orders of fish tacos. Everything that arrived at the table was amazing.
The dinner menu has a few more items with a fresh catch of the day. We can't wait to go back for dinner. Dinner doesn't start till 5pm.
We come to the OBX every year and really hope this place is still here next year. The menu looks small but what you get is world class.
Seriously the fish tacos are amazing and worth going for alone. (They are grilled and come with corn tortillas, not breaded for those concerned about that like I am. The wings were also...
