(First let me start I would rather not write a review then write a bad review...I only like writing positive reviews) BUYER BEWARE of this awful place of business! The food is AWFUL, very basic. The quesadillas are okay. Food has a lot of salt! The owner ”yager” is awful. Charges 1$ for ice! We wanted to fill our water cup with ice and stopped (kids and women) and said it was a 1$? Would not let us refill our WATER!!!! On a 100 degree day in obx. (Didn’t this just happen at Starbucks?, and Starbucks changed policies? Water and bathroom use for everyone) On a very hot day in obx to deny your patrons water? This should be punishable, you should not run a restaurant! we have spent 100’s of dollars with this restaurant. it is quick and convienant (so we will pass by if the little ones need a simple quesadilla. For kids it’s okay...if they want a cheese quesadilla (but trust me do not go, make it in your kitchen as “Yager” hates kids) And side eyes children, wanting them out of his restaurant! He insanely rude and terrible, this is not my first rude experience with him! NO customer service!...also if you don’t have blond hair and blue eyes he is very discriminatory. Unfortunately Yager we own homes here...since are home owners we have visited this place more then 20 times...we supported your business and so do our family, friends, and renters (especially on the off season)...how about have some manners? We will have to let everyone know NOT to eat at this very disgusting restaurant. Everyone gives a local...
Read moreIt's a challenge to eat out on a vacation destination when you have to navigate around asking for a safe meal due to a food allergy!
We got a fabulous meal and attentive staff to help make sure our daughter could eat safely with her severe dairy allergy! When other restaurants in same area would not offer us anything safe for her, this place fit the bill 100%!
The server cleaned everything, changed gloves, and understood my daughter couldn't risk cross contamination from the food on the line and went into the fresh items my daughter requested for her crispy tacos so she had chicken, lettuce, guacamole and pico de gallo that DIDN'T come in contact with cheese (which is all over the place in a Mexican place!).
Then they made our food so she didn't have to wait like many other places do. We all sat down together and enjoyed our late lunch after driving 6+ hours to get to Corolla.
THANK YOU for your genuine service and for taking the extra precautions needed that other neighbor restaurants WOULD not help us with (and yes, I know any food establishment can help us with this food allergy, IF they REALLY want to, but many refuse...
Read moreI do not understand all the glowing reviews for this place. We were there this week on Thursday June 3rd 2021. Trying to grab some lunch before driving back to Salvo. We had a large group, but the place was not crowded when we got there. The food took FOREVER to get to us. Which might have been fine if it hadn’t been for the incredibly rude waitress who had no idea what she was delivering and we asked which were the shrimp vs Mahi Mahi tacos, she replied “ I have no idea”. What? There was so little meat on any of the tacos that I’m sure identification was difficult. She came to our table with an actual scowl on her face, made rude comments and seemed generally peeved that she had to bring the food out. Overall, we had tacos and quesadillas with different toppings. They were all soggy like they sat in water before serving. I don’t know what passes for Mexican food in the Outer Banks, but this was positively boring and bland. No spice, no flair, no taste. The ONLY reason I gave this 2 stars is because the cashier taking orders was very friendly and the margaritas were decent. Overpriced and...
