/2018 I really wanted to like this restaurant, I have been wanting to try it for a while now. I went there for lunch. It wasn't too busy. We were seated right away and we got our drinks pretty fast. I decided to go big and have a steak. I ordered me up in 16 oz top sirloin steak with the garlic skin-on mashed potatoes and then some garlic bread. I love garlic. I also decided to get the add-on salad for $1.95. When the salad came I started to rethink the steak. For $1.95 you get a small wet bowl of lettuce with croutons and plenty of water at the bottom of the bowl so you won't get thirsty.I know it's only a couple of bucks but if that's the best you can do I would take it off the menu. I just don't think a few pieces of tomato and a tablespoon of cheese is gonna break you but it will sure help the eye appeal of your soggy salads. So I just kind of nibbled on my sad little salad just to kill time until my steak came which wasn't too too long. It looked okay it was not the best cut of top sirloin I could tell. Once I cut it open it was also not rare. So much for having a good steak. I'll have to settle for this instead. The potatoes were just yucky. They were still lukewarm warm at best in the middle and pretty hot on the outer rim which tells me the cook has not quite mastered the microwave yet . The skin to potato ratio was way off seemed more skin almost than potato.not sure if it's just plain laziness or lack of care on the staffs part but I was so over this place quick. NO OVER ACHIEVERS WORK HERE. They need to raise the bar on food and service or lower the prices. I will not be going back. There's too many other great restaurants here in Corona to spend your time and money at and not...
Read moreWhen I moved to Corona, one of the best places out there was Betty Faye's Cafe. I would drive past going to L.A. and see the parking lot was full, sitting in a strip mall which struck me as kind of weird, especially since there was other business but they were closed. One day I decided to pull up and find out where and why all these cars were parked. And did I forget to mention that this was a week day. To my surprise the lines were long, really long. I walked in the place and was immediately impressed and felt so welcomed. The decor was awesome, sort of like being in the mid western states like Tennessee, just down home and pleasant. Every table was jammed packed with people and full of food, when I tell you that it was like being in heaven baby believe that. The smells were and still are so darn good that it reminded me of my Granny, she would cook like this. The food made forget that I was on a diet that week. Oh my goodness the service here is amazing, the servers are so nice and just freaking awesome. I have not tried everything just yet but what I know is that their wagon wheel pancakes are enough to feed me and four of my grandkids, their corn beef hash is delicious, the salads are fresh and good, I don't eat pork but that slice of ham was like a slice of heaven 😋 thick and plentiful. They prepare everything fresh and to you liking. If you want to have a great down home experience then come on down to Betty Faye's Cafe you won't regret it, I promise ❤️ I don't live here anymore but I make it my business to...
Read moreWe came here because of the excellent reviews and were not disappointed. The service was excellent, prices were reasonable, food was delicious, and portions were heaping.
When people in previous reviews said the plates were two meals, they weren't kidding. My husband can eat large servings, but even he had to take literally half of his omelet to go. I only ordered the breakfsst burrito (no sides) and ate the whole thing, but I also skipped lunch afterward because I was stuffed. The bacon was crispy, eggs were fluffy, cheese was melty, and hash browns tasty. Also, the salsa tasted fresh and light, although it was mild - but that's what I like.
The service was so fast that we couldn't believe it was ours when the server was approaching. I highly recommend it.
Edit 4/6/24: Since our last visit four years ago, I still recommend Betty Faye's. The omelets were generously-sized. I like the thin kind of omelet, which they serve here. Others prefer the thicker, pillowy kind, but I like the Betty Faye's type. They were stuffed with fillings. There was an overwhelming amount of bacon.
The waffles were good - fluffy inside and crispy outside. The strawberry one is impressive with all the whipped cream. The strawberry syrup tasted artificial, but the strawberries were big, ripe, and juicy. The orange juice was huge and almost $6, while the hot chocolate was also huge with a stunning amount of whipped cream for about half that. The coffees were kept topped off, and the...
