My wife and I went into the Corona BJ’s on a Thursday about 5pm. The daily special for Thursdays was a “slow-roasted entree and a pizookie,” When the waiter took my order, I ordered the “slow-roasted double bone-in pork chop entree” which was only available after 4pm. I was informed by the waiter that my only 2 choices were ribs or tri-tip. I said that the restaurant app did not state those were my only 2 choices and showed him the proof on the restaurant app. He went to get a manager. When a manager arrived we showed her that nowhere on the app does it state that I was only limited to ribs or tri-tip. She stated that the app was a mistake and those were my only 2 choices. She also stated she was taking a screenshot of the app and forwarding it to her GM for clarification. My wife stated that it was the restaurants mistake and it should honor our request to order the slow-roasted pork chop and get the free pizookie. My wife also stated “you are making a big deal out of this over a cookie and a scoop of ice cream!” She left to get another manager. About 10 minutes later another manager arrived (he never introduced himself but the waiter said his name was Robert) and said he would honor our request but “it would be the last time.” We felt like Robert was speaking down to us like we were children instead of paying customers. A properly trained manager would have apologized for the restaurants mistake/misunderstanding and should have honored a customer’s request without hesitation. Anyways, we waited another 5-10 minutes for the waiter to come back. He asked if we had spoken to the manager. We said “yes” and that the manager had granted our request. The waiter then went to look for the manager to confirm. When he came back to take our order (about 5:30pm) and I ordered the pork chop, he stated, “We are out of the pork chop.” I told him “how convenient it was that the restaurant was suddenly out of pork chops less than 2 hours after it can be ordered.” Needless to say, my wife and I took our business elsewhere for dinner. We live in the area and frequent this BJ’s regularly. We have never had an issue with this particular BJ’s before this time. At the time of this posting, the app has now been updated to clarify that the Thursday special choices are ribs and tri-tip only. This was by far the worst customer service we have ever encountered at...
Read moreTo be fair BJs Corporate office contacted us and assured me they will investigate the problem and send me a 50.00 gift certificate to to try again. I will keep you posted this was a terrible night for all involved.
Four of us celebrated our birthdays at BJ's on May 16th at 4:30 pm. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we waited 15 minutes just to be greeted by our server. We ordered our food and drinks at this time, with me choosing the Ribeye steak pointing to it on the menu and my wife opting for the ahi tuna salad. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse.
Our friends received their salads within 20 minutes, but mine never arrived. I asked the server bringing the salads about it she said she would check, and after another 15-minute wait, my wife's salad was finally brought out. But the real kicker was when she took a bite and realized the fish tasted off, with a texture that suggested it had been frozen and freezer-burned. Needless to say, it was sent back.
Meanwhile, I was still waiting for my Ribeye steak, which eventually arrived, but to my surprise, it was actually prime rib. I was already fed up with the service at this point, so I just ate it anyway. My wife's replacement salad, a ribeye salad, was brought out when everyone was almost finished with their meals, and she ended up taking it home.
To top it all off, our dessert, the Snickers Pizookie, was burned on the first attempt, and we had to wait for another one to be made. What was supposed to be a nice birthday celebration turned into the worst dining experience of my life."
I have been going to BJs for years but this has been the worst dining...
Read moreI really hate to make a bad review because our server was nice and respectful, BUT i think some of your staff needs better training. We ordered our appetizer and drinks, our appetizer came first. Still no drinks by the time we finished our appetizer and no sign of our server for a total of 20 mins from the time she brought our appetizer to the time she re appeared into the dining area. Still no drinks. She walked passed us and didnt even bat an eye. She didn’t come to check on us at all and instead was socializing with coworkers in the takeout area. When she finally came to take our order and asked if we wanted anything else and i said our drinks would be great. and she seemed SHOCKED we hadn’t gotten them yet… but who is supposed to bring them? we got our drinks and food, my food was cold and my boyfriend’s was missing a few listed ingredients but whatever i didn’t want to wait any longer. when she brought the check, i was double charged for one of the drinks… Again i think this is a training issue. Servers should be trained to be able to handle all tables at the same time and how to do their job correctly before hand. And socializing and joking around with coworkers instead of actually paying attention to your job and what you are being paid to do isn’t okay regardless of where you work or what industry you’re in, and should be moderated by...
