Another phenomenal visit to one of our favorite seafood restaurants! From the host stand to the server to the manager... the staff here is top notch.
Brooke, at the host stand was spacing people out well, and giving spot on wait times. We did not have a reservation and were informed it would be about 30 minutes. She called us at exactly 30 minutes. We are always willing to knowingly wait for great service.. and GREAT service is what we got!
Megan was our server (who we discovered we have been served by before at another restaurant -- good hire King's, she's always been phenomenal). She is so friendly and personable, while providing excellent service. Her timing is perfect on everything. The kitchen was on top of the orders, and the food was fantastic as usual (shrimp taquitos, oyster platter, seafood cobb salad, king crab legs, and 2 kids fish and chips).
The manager, David, came by just after our entrees were dropped to see how we were doing. We have been checked on by him in previous visits and it's so nice to see a manager so engaged in the guests' restaurant experience. He is super friendly and always happy to assist the tables in anything they need.
We have had some rough experiences at restaurants since COVID. Staff shortages seem to be a major issue everywhere, but some restaurants are not dealing with this as well as others. We have informed managers at several restaurants where the service was terrible that instead of cramming people in a restaurant with no servers/cooks, it's better to inform people that they will need to wait. I'd rather be told, it will be a 2 hour wait but the service be excellent than be sat right away with a server handling 10-15 tables with no backup and a kitchen scrambling to put out mediocre food. All the while, managers are nowhere to be found. Kings in Corona has figured it out. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to come back! We will be...
Read moreI agree with the other reviews that the food is good esp. the clam chowder. I could have given this place a 4 star for their nice waitresses and waiters, but who ever that rude/unethical (white, dull blond mid long haired lady in a khaki pants) was ,I guess a manager/hostess, hopefully not the owner; when we went in there for lunch on a thursday, messed it all big time. My husband ordered his drink and after his first sipped, the lady suddenly went to our table grabbed his drink right after my husband put it down ,placed a tissue underneath it without saying a word and left. Then when we were almost done, we asked for the check from the waitress and as soon as my husband finish signing the receipt, that rude/unethical lady came again without saying anything, grabbed the check with his cc , instead of processing our bill she moved to the next table next to us and chit-chat with the other customer non stop not realizing that she drop my husband's cc on the floor. If I didn't pick it up and informed her ,she won't even stop her nonsense conversation with the other customer. When she saw my husband got irritated, she tried to show her superficial /sarcastic apology and processed our bill. I don't know what was her MENTAL STATUS but definitely she does not belong to that friendly place because she is not capable of giving good service, since she only chooses whom she wants to give a good service. For that, definitely we will never go back in there even though we live around the area and is not the only place to dine in...
Read moreThis review is for Raw and Sushi Bar items only. Came here with one of my best girlfriends to grab a little bite before shopping! Awesome location inside Crossings at Corona. Surrounded by shops, dining and a movie theater.
We take a seat at the bar and are immediately served water and menus. We order drinks and the sampler of a dozen oysters. I really like how the menu tells you all the different types of oysters and where they came from. The bartender was also super knowledgeable when it came to the flavor profiles of the oysters, BRAVO!
After that we got an order of Yellowtail carpaccio, which was fantastic! Wonderful balance of flavors that consisted of Ponzu, jalapeño, wasabi cream, ikura and micro-cilantro. I wanna say there was shaved bonito and capers as well, to lend to that salty bite. The heat was just right from the jalapeño and wasabi cream, not overpowering at all. Seriously, so delectable! If you are a raw fish or sashimi lover, this is for you!
After that we couldn't help but order another half dozen of our favorite oysters from the platter, they were seriously that good!
Seafood is fresh and delicious here, they have a stellar menu that is updated daily. Always different oysters and other shellfish to try!
Service is neat and fast, the lady at the bar did a fantastic job of answering bout questions and keeping our Rosé topped off. Definitely...
